durable tire dressing

Is silicone dressing bad for tires?

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't silicone responsible for leaving that browning effect and also for tire cracking with long term use?

I use the DP tire gloss gel and its awesome, applying it takes a little bit of time but the shine lasts 2-3 weeks depending on the weather.

I like the look of Opti-Bond a lot. Multifunctional product and can be applied with foam pad or even HVLP sprayer.

Just started using it........what's the most recent opinion on its longevity???

Thx.

See ya.

Im with Sully's on the Hyper dressing. I tried 3:1 and didnt think it was enough. Then tried 1:1 and its lasted through an entire week or rainy weather and still looks good. Abit glossier then I like so 2:1 might be the trick for me. I also did 2 x application to make sure I had good even coverage.

Even 1:1 is not disgustingly glossy but a step up from that new tire look that I tend to like best on cars.

3:1 ended up looking good applied x2 but x1 It did not give great results.

It's all in the preference but Hyper dressing works well... I have not tried the other meg's products for tires.

I've never bought into the durable, long lasting tire dressings.

Since I wash weekly, I prefer to dress the tires weekly.

It takes a few minutes and cost pennies.

DP is what I use.

If you're doing a customer vehicle, I guess long lasting matters.

I use Meguiar's Endurance Gel and have and will for years. It may be silicone based, but if put on thin enough, it will NOT sling at all. I use foam applicators and can do an entire car with a couple of tablespoons of product and it lasts about 2 weeks before you need to apply more unless your tires are very dry, then 2 thin coats will give you a very nice shine, without over-doing it and lasting a couple of weeks.

If you're putting tire shine on and it's dripping down the tire...you're doing it wrong. All that really going to happen is everything that's dripping down is going to be flung right onto the clean surface you just polished out.

I like to use Duragloss 261 or 303 protectant. They both last a few weeks on average. 261 has more gloss.

High endurance last along time but I don't like that product. My tire dressing of choice lately has been PB bold n bright. It has decent longevity and the look my customers like. It's priced moderately in my opinion.

Tropi-Care White Pearl is the most durable dressing I've ever used (I haven't tried Ultima Trim Guard on tires though), it is so durable, it's almost boring...gives you SV Pneu clone look at a fraction of the cost...

Ive never really been impressed with any tire dressing in the durability dept, especially the gels and water based products. Megs hot shine is pretty good, Tuf Shine is easily the longest.

Right now, I'm partial to Armor All Extreme Tire Gel. Good look and is absolutely the only dressing IMHO that doesn't sling. Reasonably priced too and one bottle will last forever.

Wolfgang Black Diamond (same as Onyx?) or Mother's Reflections Tire Care (both non-glossy products) It's very important to clean your tires before you apply a dressing.
:iagree: Same here

Thats a bit of a broad statement don't you think. There are dozens of these dressings that don't sling when properly applied.

Meguiar's NXT Insane Shine is super high gloss and I get some pretty ridiculous longevity out of it.
