Duragloss 101, 105, or 111?

The beading of the DG111 isn't even close to that of the Collinite products I've used. But the shine is unmatched. I really like the 111.

Anyone else noticed this about the beading?

Yes. If I want the show, I'll apply some Zymol over it.

I have heard that 601 has mild solvents that may remove any previous product when applied. If so, what is it doing when you apply 111/601 over 105/601? Should you just apply 111 over the 105/601? (105/106 is a fantastic treatment with regular maintenance with 921 or any DG product with "Aquawax.")

Well, we know 105/601 and 111/601 are both just fine on their own. So... Even if a second application of either combo removed "some" of the previous application, we'd still be just fine. And we would, at the very least, ensure even application. But I have a hunch we'd do a little better than that.

With that said, if you're not immediately topping the second application, 111 would be fine on its own, as well. I also remember seeing in another thread that it was recommended by DG to just go ahead and use both 111/601 for coat #2. No harm, no foul.

Basically, I don't think there's a bad option in the bunch (aside from "possibly wasting" a small percentage of the initial application product combo).

I have four cars and a small fiberglass travel trailer I take care of - and they all get Duragloss. The fiberglass gets 501/601. The cars are all as new paint and they get either 105 or 111, depending on the color. However, I save a step and put a good dose of Collinite 845 in the mix.
I do them all once a year in the Spring and they are protected all year in
Seattle rain and sea air. Truly remarkable products.
