Just got the chance to give the Evo a detail this saturday/sunday. Ive got the DuraGloss team 101/105 and was eager to try it on my car.

Did the DG 101 first with the PC and blue pad, then the DG 105 with the white pad, the 105 i could do by hand, but wanted to try applying it with the PC, the car has litle/no plastic trim, so its a easy task with the PC, and no masking was needed.

The DG 101 gave the biggest WOW, after removing it, it realy gives a wet look to the paint.

The DG 105 didnt give any difference to the gloss on the car after applyng it, but i didnt apply it regarding gloss, but durability. easy on and easy off.

But all in all, the DuraGloss products is Great products, gives good gloss, easy to use and (yet to see) they say i will last looooong time.

Ohhh i look forward to the summer.

Truls..nice job on the Red..my truck is red..and the DG really brings the red out...

The paint is really sticking out...you did a nice job...

Here is a little hint....useing a pc to do the 101 is fine..it gets the cleaners pumping to clean the paint...but when it comes to doing the 105..your best bet is doing by hand....the pc and the mild cleaners in 105 may put them in action and clean off some of the 101...but by just rubbing it in gently by hand..the cleaners just about stay dormant..so it leaves the under product alone...you see what I am getting at...

I spray a lite mist of either FC&S or AW on the applicator pad...just to prime her..then add a small amount of 105 on it...I move in straight lines till I feel the pad needs more...I use a 1/2 oz doing my truck this way...it will spread a long ways once the pad primes up..I use a polishing pal...best money spent..

Did know that Al, I dont know why i did it with the PC? think i got eager, it was kinda late and i just didnt think about it, but next time ill remember.:)

Truls, I want your car. It looks like the paint is still wet, awesome job!!!! Is the 105 a sealant or wax?

Polymer/wax formula it says at AG. I would call it a sealer, but Al or Sparkie is the ones to ask when it comes to DuraGloss products.

It has some cleaners and have great protection. use it after the DG 101 or DG 601 bonding agent to get the maximum protection. Also, the DG 101 was AWESOME, wet look it says, wet look it is...................

Wow very nice. Did your pad turn red color ;)
single stage paint :D

No the pads didnt turn red, but i was woundering about that. Does that mean that i have no clear coat if the pad turns red?

Another great job Truls. Do put any kind of sealant or wax on your Brembo brake calipers?

No i didnt, but i noticed myself that they was looking brighter red than before, must be the P21s wheel cleaner, got no other explanation, it cleans well (if u use it regulary)

Awesome job, Truls!! Looks really wet and rrrrrred!!:D

The 105 is a synthetic product..it is a sealant..but they use a synthetic resin(called wax) also which gives it the hard coat....sorta like Meg's NXT is called a wax also..it contains a polymer and a resin so they call it Tech Wax..

it is not carnauba based..but resin based...Autoglym has a product similar also...

Actually some waxes that are carnauba/polymer based contain a synthetic resin..it kinda adds to the durability and the final look of the wax it self...I believe the new Blackfire is a polymer/wax based product also... FK1 Pink Wax is a mix also and a very good wax at that......

so to answer your question..it is a sealant....

After the car was outside at work today and it was snowing, i wanted to hose the snow off the car before i was putting it back in the garage.

This was the first time i had water on the car after applying DG 101 and 105, NEVER EVER have i seen water repellent like this, i hosed the car with high pressure for 4 min, and the car was good as dry after, could have used a handkerchief to remove the rest of the water.

Man i wish it would rain here now, just to see a dry car in the rain..........

It does repell water real nice..also when the car has some slight grime on it and it rain..most of comes off with the rain...

Glad your seeing the good side of DG

Al

Yeah DuraGloss is superb. Next time i wash the car, it will be with the DG 901 and then a mist of Aquawax after. looking forward to that

Truls, your car looked to good to be taking it out in the snow. You need to get an old car to drive in bad weather.

I'm sure it's fun but watch out for the ice. Don't mess up that beautiful car. My wife use go complain about my cars until I gave her a Mercedes for Christmas 2 years ago. Ever since then she don't say a word anymore. She has not even complained about all the stuff I have been getting from AG lately. I guess it was worth it.
