105 is strictly a sealant. For a DG product with corrective (and especially paint cleaning) abilities, check out 501. (It's the dyslexic version, LOL). You have to see to believe what it can do to white paint. Top it with 105 and then Colli 845 and you will have amazing paint with unbeatable protection!!

As Richy stated 501 would be your best choice if your looking for a good AIO. Topping with 105 and Collinite 845 gives you an amazing look and durability.

DG sealant products are very easy to apply and remove by hand or machine. Great looks, very smooth, very durable and very affordable. Use them with the 601 polish bonding agent and they cure very quickly as well as increasing the durability of the products.

This line is a winner that in my opinion has been overlooked and underestimated by many.

DG products are among my favorites at any price.

I agree but slightly disagree. 105 has cleaners in addition to sealant. DG's sealant only is Duragloss CCP (Clear Coat Polish) #111. Everything they say about paint looking great is true.

The cleaners in DG 105 are the slightest amount, mostly to assist in surface prep by removing fresh water spots or runs, minor grime, etc., with more sealant properties. DG 501 on the other hand has more chemical cleaners to pull dirt out of the paint (automotive use) with less sealant properties.

I have never seen anything to suggest that 105 has more or less sealant properties than 501. 501 has more cleaners but that doesn't mean it doesn't provide the same sealant protection. They are both one step products

Duragloss is an awesome line of products.

Hi, I just used DG 105 on my Blue Punto but I used a Sonax polish to prep the paint. I later realized that the polish has a good amount of Carnuba in it and that would prevent the sealant from bonding. Somebody suggested that I use a water based polish like Optimum Polish II next time instead.

My question is that products like Collinite 845 have a Sealant, Wax and cleaners and it manages to bond quite well so why is DG 105 having trouble bonding to Carnuba.

I recently bought DG 105 and 501 during the holidays and also picked up a BOGO on 601 (polish bondikng agent). I've used #111 and #105 in the past with awesome results and I'm looking forward to trying out #105 and #501 for the first time as soon as I can. I've been asking for it for some time but I wish we could get their WOWO product that's sold overseas.....maybe us DG fans need to start a thread for it! Post it and it will come....with enough interest!

:iagree: I have 105 and 501 , I found 105 remove tar easily, I believe it can remove protection layer under it. Duragloss guys said for topping just use 111, I forgot the thread that somebody post this comment.
for me , if I want more cleaning power I use 501 and top with pure wax.
If just descent cleaning than I use 105. both looks the same for me and last almost the same.

Thanks guys. What's a good polish under DG 105 for paint correction? Like I said, I am considering Optimum Polish II.

Since when is 105 strictly a sealant? On the bottle it says cleans and polishes, I don't think strict sealants clean the paint. 105 and 501 I thought were very similar, just that 501 has stronger cleaning agents in it since it's meant for marine applications. Both look great and have great durability. Both, IMO, are AIO products.

This really depends on the condition of the paint and what you are trying to achieve. Do you need to compound and polish? Just use a medium cut polish? A finishing polish?

If anyone wants a "sample" of 501, PM me. I have some to get rid of. You have to be down south though, don't want to ship something and have it freeze.

DG customer service said "There is no harm in wiping down with IPA, but is not necessary when using #105" after using HD Polish or HD UNO which are Body Shop Safe and contain no silicone or fillers. So perhaps this would apply to other polishes.

Not an official stance obviously, but I would "assume" it's because of the chemical cleaners in DG 105 TPP and their ability to dissolve the oils. Again, I assume this.
