Duragloss 105

Can I layer DG 105? Wont the cleaners in it take off the preveious coat?

yes you can layer 105....but 2 coats is all you need...the cleaner will not remove a cured coat of 105..so wait at least 12 hours before doing second coat...the cleaner is mild at most..

Even if I have a coat of AW over the first coat of 105? Do I use the 601 on the second coat? I would like to add one more coat of 105 than top with a carnuba than Z-CS, will this be ok?

No. 601 is a decent strong cleaner that will remove any previous layers of wax or sealant. You would only use it on the first coat to prep the surface.

Also seeing that Z-CS is a spray sealant it would not sit well over a wax.

Are you sure u dont have 601 confused with 501? 601 is the bonding agent.

No im not getting confused. 601 pba is used as a prewax cleaner/prep and as a catalyst for polymer sealants for extended durability. It preps the surface and removes any previous layers of wax/sealant.

Reading about Z-CS it says some have used it over a wax and say it looks great. But to me as it is a polymer sealant I tend to believe it belongs under a coat of wax or by itself.

Has anyone used 601 with other brands to see if they improved durability?

This is why I love this place. Learn something every day. I would have taken a wild guess that you couldn't layer and been wrong. Listen to Al. He knows DG products.

I don't think that #601 PBA would work properly with other products.

DG105 can be layered, granted you wait 12-24 hours between coats. I also don't see any reason to apply more than 2 coats because that's all it would take to guarantee even coverage.

I run a coat of DG105 with a coat of Z-CS on top (on my Subaru) and it looks really great. It's a super wet look but I wouldn't put Z-CS on top of another product that did not meet or exceed the durability of the Z-CS, otherwise it's a waste of both products.

If you want to run carnauba wax and Z-CS, you should wash the vehicle, clean the paint thoroughly, apply Z-CS, and then apply a coat of carnauba wax and just add another coat of carnauba wax every other month or however long the carnauba is supposed to last.

Btw, I packaged the Z-CS for you, I'm going to send it out as soon as I get a chance. Things are just really hectic at work right now.
