Duragloss 271

Finally a product that worked on the Wife's Sienna rear step. As anyone knows here I have been battling this rear step for quite some time. I have tried UTTG, Solution finish, D-Lux, 303 and various others trying to get rid of the gray and get the step back to black to no avail. Finally picked up Duragloss 271 and after 3 coats we have successfully returned to black. It just amazes me with all the high priced things I bought that an $8.00 bottle did the trick. The before is on the left and the finished on the right. The little white dots on the right is lint from the terry cloth. This is definately a try product for oxidation.

I have been accompanying your odyssey and I'm glad you finally found something that suits you. :dblthumb2:
There is however something that I would like to say: you couldn't expect something like UTTG+ to restore the trim, since its only goal is to seal and protect. The same can be said for 303.
Did you get to try C4?

No haven't tried that yet, it will be interesting to see the longevity of the 271. With most of the products I listed I tried different approaches including using SEM sand free for plastic which did make it black with no protection. None of the above lasted very long on that end either except the 303 and DG 253 applied with a rotary and wool pad. Duragloss 253 was the same as 303 for longevity but D-Lux, UTTG and Solution finish was only days. Don't get me wrong as I do use UTTG, D-lux on several occasions and it works well where I use it, just not on this particular piece.

271 is my go to for all exterior plastic and trim. It's a hidden gem that never gets recognized on this forum. Did you buff off the excess with a dry towel? That makes it look twice as good and last longer IME.

Oh yeah, buffed each coat.

I just picked up a bottle of 271 at the local hardware store. Not much risk involved for 8 bucks!
 
Oh and in case you wondered, I applied 271 to the wiper cowl of my daily driver in mid November and it still looks just as good as the day I applied it. Beads water very well too.
 
Nice Ill have to put this in my arsenal for my mustang since I have alot of plastic trim on it.
 
DG products never disappoint. The best bang for the buck products available in my view.
 
Nice little find dave. I have been looking at trim products and reading reviews trying to figure out the best one. Might have to spend the $8.00 on this seeing as how you have tried others that I was looking at that just didn't work out for you.
 
This is another hidden gem in the Duragloss line. As with other trim products, very little is required making it an exceptional value.
