Duragloss #601 Polish Bonding Agent Information

OK..Clarification time. Maybe I should have put this in a new thread but hopefully anyone interested in DG 601 will read this. I emailed Jerry today and here is an exerpt from the email response. It seems I was mistaken. My apologies if I mislead anyone about using 601 with another sealant.

From Jerry:
"Unless the polishes or waxes contains these specialized polymers we get from Germany the 601 will not add the full protection to any other polishes except the Duragloss polishes like 501,105,101,and the 111. Now thats not to say someone might be using one that has some of the polymeric properties of the polymers we use but ours ours are exclusive to Brothers Research Corp.and have been for over 25 years. I have used 601 with a lot of polishes and waxes in the past and have seen none that would activate like the Duragloss line."

So I understand it works well under Z2 and Z5 then, right? :D
(just joking, won't open another can of worms)

I really have a strong feel that it should work well under Mark V's IP100 Polyshine with a very similar cypher written on the bottle. But then it's the power of chemical encryption, looking so alike but totally different :)

Going to apply my second coat of 105 this weekend. I clayed, polished, DG 101,waited 24. DG 601 & 105. Should I use 601 again for the second coat or go straight to the 105?

If you want to flash cure the 105 then yes. Jerry assured me that the cleaning ability of the 601 will not remove previous layers.

Thanks Richard. I will use it every time knowing this. The vehicle I am applying it to sits out 24/7 so its nice to know the sealant wont be comprimised by rain or dew during the cure time.

There products have been amazingly easy to apply and remove. I even purposely applied it heavy by in hand in an area and it still wiped off great. I really like there sealants.

I tried 1:4 601/501 mix. It went on and off ok but what PITA to clean up bottles, funnels, etc. I topped with IW845 -I'll interested in the durability. Do you have a convenient method of mixing.
Yes, mixing these 2 products will cause them to congeal. I recommend only mixing a small amount. Having said that, I reuse the same bottles. I just add more products to it in the same ratio. My personal experience is that the thickness of the end result in no way affects its performance. I was doing this system for the whole summer with no problem. You dont need to clean them out after use. I use a couple of dollar store plastic ketchup sqeeze bottles. Still using them months later.

Flash cure...where have I heard that term before...:cool:
From me.
