So I had bought a few bottles of AW not too long ago, but really gave it a try today. Washed the Explorer and dried it off nicely and threw on a coat of AW. VERY NICE! I don't understand how people can get streaking, I did the whole SUV with just one MF and it worked perfectly.

I think the key was a tip from Al: don't use too much of it. I did the whole thing in less than 10 minutes and it really looks good on top of P21s.

:righton:

How come you never take pictures P1et? We all love to see pictures.

Actually, it's rather scary exactly how many pictures I take of everything. But it was very overcast today and then it started raining so I parked her inside.

But after I was done, I knew someone was going to want to see pics.

If the weather is better tomorrow, pics will be shown!

I know you are into cameras and like taking pictures so I thought I would mess with you.

sparkie, I know P1et takes great pictures that's why I was messing with him. On a serious note I didn't think you liked Duragloss products. ;)

I know you were just messing with me Gary, but I just knew I should have taken some pics!!!

And yes, the Explorer is black. Thanks for digging up the pic Sparkie! So yes, haven't seen or experienced any streaking which is perfect. It's still raining, but I'll see if I can snap a pic or two today.

just got some aquawax. i read in here that a little goes a long way--one spray per panel--two on the hood.

does one spray provide enough coverage? or does it spread around easily to cover the areas? my guess is you apply like glass cleaner?

I do one spray and wipe, one spray and wipe (etc).
Eventually, the MF towel will become damp toward the end of application.
Then I do the glass and chrome with the damp towel.
BTW, I have a black truck and have never had any streaking.

I haven't done it, but I've also read where some are putting
a cap full of AW right in their wash bucket and having great results
with this combo.

I just give the panels a good spray froma distance so it mists nicely. I use one MF for for spreading it and slighly drying it and then go back again with a clean MF and completely dry it. Works so good.

PS: I recently found out how good AW is at self cleaning like Al mentioned. My truck was noticable less dirty after driving through a good rain storm.

AW Application Procedure ?

I used AW for the first time, yesterday, immediately after my final rinse. I didn’t know the exact procedure, so I’ve been interested in the comments in this thread. I think I definitely used too much, if we’re talking about one spray a panel. I guess from reading the brief instructions on the back of the bottle, I thought the idea was to spray the wet surface and then spread the product while wiping the car dry with a MF. You would then polish after the product dried. I might have also goofed up on this last part, because I did the entire car (wanting to get the rinse water off before it dried) and then started polishing the dried AW. It wasn’t easy off after letting it dry that long.

Can anyone help me out with the application instructions and whether it’s better applied to a wet or dry vehicle ?

Black Car Tom
