I havent used DG in a long while. I've got a silver car I am going to be using it on. I've got 501, 105, 601, AW. I am going to use 501 to clean up the surface. My question is, how long do I have to wait after 501 to apply 601 and then 105?

Many here have tried and like Duragloss products. Richard (rwright) wrote a nice article that included a video. Maybe he'll see this and chime in. Richard's a talented guy and contributer here as well as other forums....:props:
 
There is no wait. You can go right to 601/105.

Here is what I have in terms of approaches you can use by save some time by creating mixtures. I am sure this info came from previous articles; I won't take credit for inventing these mixture ratios.

#1 - 1 part 601 to 2 parts 105 (use DA optional)
#2 - 1 part 601 to 2 parts 501 to 2 parts 105 (use DA)
 
Thanks. If it's ok to go quickly to 601 and then 105 after 501, I think I'll skip the mixing.
 
^^^ after being told how to mix on the fourms here, i've found that by creating the combo's i saved so much more time when using my DG products! it's up to you, but maybe worth trying someday.
 
The mix ratio is 4:1, 4 parts 501 or 105 to 1 part 601. That was provided to Richy from Duragloss and Richy was kind enough to share. If you don't plan to mix then apply 601 to the paint then after it hazes apply 501 or 105 directly over top, allow to haze then remove. Now that Walmart sells upside down flip top sample bottles, this is what I use. 1/2 oz DG 601 : 2 oz DG 501 or 105, shake very well and often, you're good to go! So much easier to squeeze out too.

ok...so if I am planning to use 501 to clean, should I use 601 before and after, if I am planning on topping with 105?

My thought, from reading this, would be to use 501, and then use the 601/105 mix. Thoughts?
 
The order needs to be maintained....

501, then 601/105 mixture

-or-

501, then 601, then 105
 
You still want to mix or use DG 601 with 501 to flash cure it, otherwise you will have to wait 12 hours before applying DG 105 due to the sealant in DG 501. The polish bonding agent is used with any of their polishes to flash cure so you don't have to wait the 12 hour period. If mixing the order will be:

DG 601/501 to clean or correct
Then DG 601/105 or 111

If applying to paint without mixing:

DG 601, allow to haze, followed by DG 501, allow to haze then remove

Then DG 601, allow to haze, followed by DG 105 or 111, allow to haze then remove.
 
Like Richard said pre mix pre mix pre mix. I use DG fairly often, go to for light colors fiberglass and gelcoat boats and trailers.
I do 4:1 and cheat if I'm constricted time wise to sometimes adding 1 part of 105 to the 501 mix for a little better protection (DG says it's the same both products protection wise but I seem to like this method).
I use 4 Oz squeeze bottles as well and use cheap walmart measuring spoons and funnels.
By premixing you can do both coats very quickly.
For a once a year protection in here in Socal on my DD truck I do 601:501 601:105 followed by Collonite 845. I've polished the thing once in 4 years still looks good after a wash. Oh I do boost with 951(Aqua wax) every other wash (once a month or so).
 
You guys are all over this. Thanks for helping this guy out.

BTW, there is no disadvantage, whatsoever, to mixing the 601 with either the 501 or 105. It does the same thing, but it just saves time. Don't mix too much at one time as the mix will coagulate a bit. It still works fine, but just comes out as a thicker mix, that's all.
 
I use 501/601 4:1 (thank you Richy) using a DA and either a white or black LC pad or even lately an Optimum MF polishing pad, do one panel then wipe off. Sometimes I use just 501 sometimes I top with 111 or a carnauba wax

Where are the upside down sample bottles? Looked earlier in both HBA and the detailing area.
