Duragloss (TPP) #105 vs (CCP) #111

Hmm, Al told me before that you can use 105 alone.
Did he say anything about a wipe down 50/50 DI water and alcohol first after (OP, XMT,) polish then 105. Think 105 as LSP.

Bags, you have it right.

You shouldn't need a wipedown before 105 because it has mild cleaners in it.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but AL told me not to wipe off 105 with a PC, do it by hand.

Anyone know how long these products are good for? I was in a parts store that had DG101, so I bought some. When I got home the little catalog inside waspromoting their 2001 die cast dragster. Should I just shake it real well or send it back?

I think if you contact DG, they'll give you a new bottle for free since that one has been on the shelf for so long. Then again, maybe that was Megs? Not gonna hurt to give it a try though.

Yea. They arent open today. Killer u like 111 over 105? Care to share?

I like pure sealants and pure waxes. I truly believe in a system where you use a specialized product for each step. The #111 to me is most like a pure sealant and very much mimic'd the old Zaino system. #105 looks nice, lasted maybe a little longer, but just seemed less "specialized'. Again, personal preference to say the least.

Yes you can use 105 by it self ...but to me the optimum results are if used just over a polished paint..use the 601 for best bonding and cleaning of the surface..

For best looks..use 101 and 105....no 601 needed with using 101...

111 has a nice look...101 and 111 are very close to each other in looks..just 101 has stronger cleaners and micro abrasives to up shine a bit...101 and 111 is there older versions (since 1974) and have a different type polymer in them than 105...105 is there newest type polymer...105 uses a polymer and a resin type polymer to give a deeper look...111 gives a older version zaino look..sorta like Klasse SG..high gloss low depth..

101...111 and 105 all have a cleaner...101 being the strongest..stronger than klasse AIO ..to me any ways...

105 and 111 cleaners are very weak..almost to the point of having none..

105 say synthetic polymer/wax formula...meaning it will give a nice wet deep finish..no real wax just synthetic resins to mimic them...

105 it the most durable of the bunch..holds its original look the longest and retains its protective properties longer also...used as a system it performs well..

Awesome information here. I like to layer my LSP. So if I went with 105 will I be able to layer it like the Zaino system? I am an old zaino user. Been using it since I purchased my S2000. I used Z2 with Z6 then layer another coat of Z2 with Z6 without removing the earlier coat. Note I only put about 5,000 a year and its garaged with a cover.

105 states it has a mild cleaner. So will I be defeating the purpose of say layering on another coat of 105 every 3 or 4 months by removing the earlier coat? I was thinking of 105 with 951 then 3 months later 105 with 951 again. Of course maintaining after washes with the 951.

Second, anybody use Duragloss PreCleaner #652? I was thinking of using it on my Daily Drivers this spring as a 1st polish step with a PC. On the product info, "polish capable of removing swirls and oxidation". I would think this is a great product to use as a first step before going to 101 with a PC and then 105 by hand. My daily drivers are Dark green metallic Accord and Red nissan crew cab.

You can layer it. The chemist at DG says 3 is more than enough. I ma in the middle of usinf AL-53 process right now. I have pics but I am waiting till Im finished. So far I have 101 x1 had to wait two days and wash again....105 x2 24 hrs apart. I am gonna have to wait anthoer two days and wash again.. then I am going to put 1 more coat of 105 then wait 12 hrs and top with 951. The day after that I will take finial photos and do a major write up. Maybe somene should start a anything DG thread. As far as the cleaners go I think they are very mild. After the first coat of 101 I had to drive the vehcile for 2 days and leave it outside. I washed it and over looked a few spots when drying since we are on well water and the guy still hasnt shown up to fix it there were a few spots on the vehicle. I thought about hitting it with the 101 again. Since I already spent about 10hrs polishing I wanted to get this done. I used the 105 by hand priming it with the 951 for 1/2 of a spray then applied by hand it removed the spots. I have not used the pre cleaner but I am in the market for one, I too am interested if anyone else has tried it.

Yeah I might just go with the highly talked about XMT line. For any major work on the DD that is needed.

I am also wanting to know if people sandwiched AW 951 in between 105 applications like Zaino insists with Z2 and Z6. I may just call the Duragloss guys.

I thought about doing a 951 layer in between but did not. Let us know if you try it or call them.

My Buddy was a big Zaino user and switched over to DG...he has done the 105 then AW and 105 and AW then 105..and his truck looked great....I am going to play with it more this summer...I have tried just 105 and AW and 105 and looked good...but the 3 layers of 105 and 2 of AW looked great..but you have to wait till they cure...so it will take a few days...a day for each application to get Optimum results....

those of you in warmer climates may get away doing 105 in the morning...AW later that night ..next day 105 in the morning AW that night ..last 105 the next morning and all set...use fast clean and shine after the next wash...AW a few weeks later....
