Hi everyone I had a question I have a 2014 mustang that I keep in the garage. I wanted to know if airborn dust from the garage will hurt the car paint if I let it sit on there I have over 20 coats of pinnacle souveran on it. I don't do any work in the garage it's just dusty. So will dust hurt the paint if I let it sit there for like 3 weeks if I don't drive the car because most of the time it just sits in the garage

I am going to go with a yes and no. The no part is the dust just sitting there and not rubbing on the paint is fine, especially with the 20 coats. The yes part is the more the build up of dust to remove is just that much more rubbing against the paint when you go to remove it.

The only way I'll remove it is with a foam cannon and a wash

No---dust won't hurt the paint.

Rubbing will hurt the paint. With or with out the dust.

Just as long you don't rub against the paint its fine!
Do not be like my friend that Wrote "Wash me" on my cars glass! I threw a wrench at him!

20 coats is impressive.

Edit:
Oops; must of stumbled
across a Zaino thread:

Was thinking the exact same thing. I just had a conversation with a Corvette owner friend. Doesn't know if he wants me to polish the 2006 C6 paint because he has "20 coats" of Zaino:)

To the OP,

I have nothing against Zaino. It looks good on the Corvettes I've seen it on.

Look at some other great sealants that Autogeek offers. Blackfire Wet Diamond and Finish Kare high temp paste wax/FK 1000p (FK is really a sealant) are two of my favorite. Unlike Zaino, you only need one, maybe two coats for perfect gloss/coverage. These two are both exceptionally easy to use.

Don't worry about the indoor dust. That short period of time will not hurt the paint.

But glass doesn't scratch... I can just imagine what would've happened if he wrote it on the paint. *shots fired* lol.

I would want to use my blower first and see how much of the dust I could remove first before hosing the rest off as much as possible.
