Looking over my new-to-me motorcycle, I notice that the paint has "dust like" particles imbedded into the paint. When I run my hand over it, it's clear that there is no wax on the paint. The paint feels "grabby" to me. To the naked eye it looks as if all the paint needs is quick detailer and a microfiber to remove these dust like particles. It is still there after a wipe down. It almost looks metallic like, but is only visible under certain lighting conditions.

What do you recommend in order to get rid of this? It seems to me perhaps claying is the only option...I only have the ability to work by hand btw. I would like to correct this and give the gas tank a glass like finish to protect the finish.

Below are pictures that hopefully shows what I'm talking about:

Try claying 1st

If that does not work...you can try an Iron/fallout remover like Iron-X

If they are above surface or embedded contaminants, one of these methods should remove them

I can't tell from the photos, but they also could be dust or dirt particles trapped IN the paint, during the painting process. These are called Nibs and have to be removed with a de-nibber and/or sanding

Hopefully, they are above surface

Good Luck
