Eagle 1 tire swipes changed

I know these aren't something AG carries, but I'm sure many use these together with stuff AG has. (Mods please delete this thread if it goes against forum rules)

I've been a long time user of E1 tire swipes, but they seem to have changed (not for the better IMO)

The new ones seem to be made out of a coarser foam that is much stiffer, where the old ones were a denser softer foam.

I have been scouring auto parts stores to find and stock up on the old ones as the new ones seem to be rougher and stiffer. ( I have found 4 packs today and they are usually towards the back of the hang peg)

The pics are hard to see, but they are very noticable in person.

The old style is on the left and the new one is on the right.

You can see the writing on the bottom right of the bag is white on the old style and black on the new style

Also the UPC is in a different orientation betweeen the two.

Just an observation... So if any of you were satisfied with the old version, you may want to try and stock up on the old ones before they are gone.
 
Why do they keep fixing something that is not broken!!
 
Yea the new ones are JUNK noticed them when my buddy picked them up for me and I was like what the heck is this!! They don't work well at all and fall apart like Rsufer said. I wish I could stock up but they are all gone around me. :awman:
 
Yup, the new ones are TRASH! They absorb all your product and then fall apart.

I've been using the long side of a natural bristle fingernail brush for tire gel. Almost NO wasted product and it gets in all the little grooves and lines on the tire very well. Try it!
 
I have been using foam applicators now.

Seems like the swipes fall apart if you put too much pressure on them.
 
My local Big Lots! has a lot of tire-shine swipes that I can't remember the brand of that are like those in the picture. They're cheap, I don't personally use them but maybe you should check them out.
 
I'll have to check big lots and find out what a fingernail brush is!!

But for now, I'll keep poking in auto parts stores to see if they have any hiding towards the back of the hang pegs.
 
Yeah I bought some of those and the two types of foam came apart after one wash. I'll have to try the fingernail brush, seems like all the new tires I come across have the little groves on the sidewall, PITA to get evenly distributed (currently spray, let dwell, then use a dedicated MF cloth to wipe down).

I know! That's why I had to figure out something else. Currently I put a bead of gel on the brush, quickly spread around the center of the face of the tire, then go back and fourth "with the grooves" around the tire. Then around the outer/inner edges, and finally quick around all of it for even coverage. With as little gel as possible.
