Earplugs Use Benefits

I did a Google search on earplugs, OSHA and ANSI certified came up.

Is there a different between OHSA and ANSI certified earplugs?

i use them while swimming, which is mandatory not optional...

I like the sounds of these. Most don't block any sound and you're simply blasting music into your years to cover up the noise...which is actually worse I'm sure. Can you share any product info? Feel free to PM me.

I don’t think they compete with anything AG sells, so shouldn’t be any harm in sharing here - The brand is Plugfones, mine are the Liberator 2.0 version. I got mine from the Cornwell tool guy, but looks like the big river site has all their offerings, plus some other options. My tool guy saw them at a tool and equipment show and bought a whole bunch of them; he sold them all in the first week and had to order more.

Next time I see him I’ll see if he’s had anyone with any issues with them. I must be nearly a year in with mine with no complaints.

I use 3m over ear bluetooth hearing protection headphones.
Use 2 at batteries. Last forever. Sound great. I use them for detailing, woodworking, and yard work.

Interesting how a first and only one time poster, posts a rambling post, saying the same thing three times (or more) and now it's a 3 page topic. Anyway, I flagged it and the admins will check it out. Mike P used to have a method to see if there was hidden links embedded in these kinds of posts.

But yes, protect your ears. I got tinnitus after a nasty concussion in 2012. Changed my life being heavily involved in audio production, guitar and music in general. I always protected my ears because I went through the golden ears training in audio production school. Sadly one day and a bad accident changed a lot of that.

I wear plugs to protect my ears and keep the lions from roaring. And certainly when I'm detailing I usually use Bose In-Ear (totally block outside noises) ear buds with some music on.

PSA: And remember, if you're in CA and your exhaust exceeds 95db, you'll get an expensive ticket. ---> my (spam) errr, I mean, contribution to continue the thread. :)

I noticed that too and also thought that was kinda funny

Good call on the hidden links - I forgot about that part!

Sorry to hear you ended up with tinnitus after an accident! Didn't know it could also be a product of a concussion. I earned mine through years of stupidity (youthful arrogance about not needing silly hearing protection) on the job. If I could turn back the clock...

Thanks! I just looked them up. They would make a killing if they were better known through more public tool/hardware outlets.
