Easiest Wheel Protection there is

Just did the wheels on my Dodge Ram this past weekend. Probably the simplest and easiest wheel protection on the market.

I've got a question regarding the appliance of the product.. If I'm having no hose available when washing my car, would washing with a bucket do the job? Or a continuous stream is required?

To apply this, a firm stream or high pressure blast of water should be used to "rinse" the product. Its more effective that way. I think the pressure of the water, and not just the water itself is part of the bonding process that makes this product work.

So would it be better to take it to the self-serve wash and use the wand? Or is that overkill?

Here are the instructions per the carpro website:

Do NOT apply HydrO2 in the sun or to a hot surface! Applying in this manner will cause streaks that do not wipe off easily.
In shaded location or shop wash your vehicle and remove any dirt from the surfaces. (For Best Results use CarPro Reset or Iron X Snow Soap)
Surface must be well cleaned from soap residue and left wet with water.
Dilute 1 part HydrO2 to 6 parts water. We recommend a spray bottle for fast and easy application.
Spray fine mist of diluted HydrO2 on no more than 1/4 of vehicle before rinsing. Very little is needed and no overlap is needed.
From time you start spraying a section to rinsing off should be approximately 30 seconds or less.
Immediately rinse well with strong water pressure to produce physical shock and create a well formed coating.
Repeat steps 5-7 on the next section of the vehicle rinsing well before moving to next section.
Finish by "flood rinsing" the vehicle without a spray nozzle to push all the water off from top down.
Dry any remaining water by blowing off with a clean Dry Me Crazy Jr.

Can we expound on Guzs post....re: Hydr02 removal.

Just going off Memor

TarX and IronX are both PH neutral
APC 4:1....let's say APC neat is ph 12 ? Dunno where the dilute lands at

Anyhow, be curious for anybody else. I'm typing this saying each may have a different experience.
Is there a clear cut way without mechanically removing....but chemically removing Hydr02

I've thought about using this on wheels and should probably just try it. But... I don't get how I could ever get pressure evenly applied between spokes or to the barrels. It seems like I would just rinse most of it off with water splashing everywhere before I could hit those spots with pressure. Not really getting how it would work.

If you have a hose with a spray nozzle, and blast water at the wheel, it works. Ive never had an issue.

As far as removing Hydro2? Ive never tried to remove it, but it lasts about 3 months on wheels, longer on paint.

I hear ya Jaretr1....I was just wondering chemically, is there a general consensus amongst the detailers, and what works...

I've seen of 2 bad instances this year in which it was improperly applied....and just short of mechnical means, be curious if there was a ~chemical combo~ that would remove it.
