Easy to use one step polish for swirls?

Finally tried it today. Not sure how I feel about it. Leaves a good finish with nice gloss, easy to wipe off and does a pretty good job for a one step. It just dusts too much for my liking.

The dusting reminded me of what I experienced with HD Polish. Which I disliked so much that I gave HD Polish away.

That's weird! HD Polish+ and Scholl's S20 Black are my favorite polishes because they don't dust for me.lol I would definitely give it another shot at some point on a different paint type. Two things you might consider the next time you use S20 Black, maybe try it on a brand new pad? Just to rule out pad dusting. Most important I think is to make sure you are using S20 on an unprimed pad. 3 pea sized (or smaller) drops on the outside of a completely dry unprimed pad. Also, I've found it doesn't seem to work well with a mist of water or any sort of pad conditioner on the pad like some compounds and polishes do. Just a completely dry pad with 3 tiny drops of polish. Hope this helps! S20 Black is far to expensive for you to have to deal with it dusting, hopefully you'll give it one more shot before giving it away!! Thanks for the update!

Like Rupes UHS needs to be used with its grey pad, S20 Black needs the Scholls blue spider pad for best results. S20 Black will not have much cut with other pads on hard paints.

Yeah I used it with brand new pads and pads I previously used a couple weeks ago that have been cleaned. Dusted with both options. Primed with 4 pea sized drops and then 2-3 drops depending on the panel size. Didn't use a pad conditioner or water on it either. Used it with the blue LC HDO pads (previously used) and even the Megs cutting disks (new) with the same outcome.

I went a few panels before I put is aside and went with Rupes Keramik and the Rupes yellow pad which is working better at the moment. This paint is weird and I hate working on it and Keramik is the only thing that works on it. I will try it again but not on this car I am currently working on.

Was on speed 4 on the Rupes 15 MKII and even on the Duetto at 4.5. Humidity was a bit high so I am hoping that is the cause.

Its not just you, Keramik is better than S20 Black. I reach for Keramik over M205, SF3500, S30 and S20 everytime.

The s20 is used with different spiderpads depends on what kind of hardness of the clearcoat. Honey spiderpad on soft clearcoat purple on medium hard clearcoat blue on hard clearcoats. If you have very hard clearcoat you can step up to s2 instead and that will finish good.
Can it be that the clearcoat you working on Guz is very soft so it's the clearcoat residue that dusting? It can be that s20 just don't work on the car you working on or the environment you have.

I'm not about to go out and buy spider pads. I have plenty of pads as it is.

The paint is finicky on this one for sure. It is actually a repaint. It's my uncles black vette.

I had the same issue the first time and Rupers Keramik was the savior. I took the opportunity to try out S20 to see what everyone was raving about but I put that aside. Didn't cut as well as Rupes keramik and again the dusting. I was curious so I tried the Sonax Cut & Finish on a cutting pad and that worked better than S20. I was just messing around with some other polishes out of curiosity.

So for now I will be putting S20 aside as Rupes Keramik is the savior once again for this particular paint. At this particular moment after a few panels I am not that impressed with S20. Good thing I only bought the 16 oz bottle and I got it on discount.

Will I reach for it again? Sure

Will it be my go to one step? At the moment no it will not

That was not my intent to recommend you go buying those pads. Just that you can use s20 from finishing pads to cutting pad depending on the clearcoat hardness. The spiderpads is reticulate(spelling?) foam dence. So if you have pads simualar to that you get the most out of it. And with the finicky paint it may just don't work with some compounds and polish. So go with what works for you.

Do the rupes keramik work better on hard than soft or is it working great on all kind of clearcoat for a finishing polish?
I think of testing it.

Same here.

It has some cut, and finishes beautiful. It has a smooth buffing feel, nice work time, and wipes off easily.

When paired with their yellow microfiber, I get boosted cut from it. It also works great on the green Rupes Foam pad. No complaints at all from Keramik.

Sounds like you were doing everything right. I don't think the abrasives Scholl's uses are as capable on normal/hard paints as Boss creams or Meguiar's compounds/polishes. Scholl's S30+, S20 Black, and S3 Gold XXL are a godsend on certain finicky pants though.

Especially soft/sticky porous paints where the carrier oils in other polishes dry up too fast. The reason I use only 2-3 tiny drops on an unprimed pad is because the abrasives Scholl's uses diminish down so much faster than the diminishing abrasives Menzerna uses for instance. So if you use too much you will be forced to continue working the polish even though the mechanical abrasives have already been fully broken down.

Also, I just realized your dusting experience was with HD Polish vs HD Polish+. That makes sense. HD Polish+ is much better and is a zero dusting product, I also wasn't a huge fan of the original formula. That said, the original formula of HD Cut was MUCH better than HD Cut+. In an effort to give the compound a little more cut 3D royally screw up the original formula's ease of use. The worse part is they didn't actually improve the cut enough to justify the less user friendly formula.

Sonax cut and finish is an excellent one step. I find it works great with a spritz of n914 on the pad as well, it's a super easy wipe off.

How would Rupes Keramik with a Boss Orange pad be for hard VW paint with lite to medium swirls perform? Have been using HD Polish, but was looking for something that might accomplish the task a little faster.

VW paint in general is really hard where even mild defects need a full blown compound.

I have really been getting into the Wolfgang line of products and the Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover gets my vote. It seems to have just the right amount of abrasives.
