Edge 200:Wool Pads

I was just cruising AG and I saw they now have the Edge Wool. I always planned on getting Edge Wool when I finally got my rotary, and it looks like that will be coming up soon, so I have some questions for people who have used it before.

-How is the quality of Edge's wool pads over it's competition?

-How do they compare in aggressiveness?

-Black wool, overkill? I planned on picking up the set and just want to make sure the black won't sit at the bottom of the cabinet.

Any other comments on Edge's Wool pads, feel free to throw in.
 
I was working at a New Car Dealership for a couple years, the only wool pad that I used was the black wool.

Started with the black wool and then went to whatever foam pad was appropriate.

I exclusevly use Edge wool, i do all my cutting with wool only, foam is a waiste of time when trying to cut.

I only use the yellow and green, never found a need for the black.
 
Will AG offer the 6" version of these wool pads?

I use the black, the green and the white Edge pads at work. Brilliant results, the black get to work when the paint is marred.
 
i just tried the yellow pad and it is not as aggresive as a 3M white pad. I would have liked to of used the black pad on the car I did with the yellow pad. I have a local supplier for the Presta pads(made by edge) so I think I am
going to pick up the black pad just in case I run into something like the last
car I detailed.

Black or even our Natural white (same as 3m) is much more aggresive. check out our chart.

Dan if you had to pick two for a starter kit what colors would you get?

Depends on what you need but the black and the green would be a nice couple if you need to polish heavy and have a favourite soft pad of other brand to finish with. If you opt for a medium-soft combination it would be green and white.

The Edge might give you some more insight on this and then you have all different deoxidizers to add to the pad combinations. I haven't used our toughest 3M with the black Edge wool pad yet but 3M Trizact 50077 was a bad cat with the black Edge wool pad. Don't forget you can custom order pads giving you black+green or green+white in the same pad.

With a custom order, you can have their foam pad on one side and wool on the other. Possibilities are endless. Check it out. Thanks to you too.

They need to be spurred between panels on the same car, and washed before use on the next car.

I was wondering the same....Yesterday I was at the body shop supply and they had the 8" wools...I grabbed a few..my old 3M's were done..used on boats and RV's and they have seen thier days...so I grabbed some 2K wools....all they had was green ..blue and black...so I grabbed a few of the greens and blues....

Now if AG can get 6" if they are made I would love to grab a few of them plus the white super finish one....

Aaron..I tried the green and blue on my hood yesterday...I am FULLY impressed with the ability of the pads..will do a review on them when I do the truck today...

The 6" would be nice in the close quartered areas...

Thank you Mighty Meghan...AG super hero.....I will call and order....from what I have done so far with the Edge 2K wool pads is amazing...fast cut and smooth as glass finish...and there is no heat on the paint...

Menz and wool is like Liquid glass finish...

This is probably a dumb question but can a wool pad be used with the PC?

I agree, I got my Edge Wool (Black, yellow, green, blue) and have been messing around with them on a old hood. Amazing. My first attempt with wool, and I can get almost no holograming with the blue and some 106ff. Awsome pads.
