Edge 200:Wool Pads

I thought the PC didn't really have enough power to cut with wool? Or at least take full advantage of wools potential? I was always under the impression the rotary was really the only option for wool, that and I think the Cyclo.

....from what I have done so far with the Edge 2K wool pads is amazing...fast cut and smooth as glass finish...and there is no heat on the paint...

Menz and wool is like Liquid glass finish...

Al-53, have you tried the black Edge2K with a little tougher polish lik the Menz Nano 106 yet? I'm thinking of moving from 3M to Menz at work and at home, the BMW clear coats are hard. Please keep us posted, I appreciate it.

We use wool pads with the Cyclo at work with wax polish and it works amazingly well. As soon as our stock of cheap pads is gone, we'll be using Edge2K pads on all machines, both the rotary Flex's, the orbital Flex and the Cyclo.

Could be shipped to Spain a set of 6" Edge 2000 Wool Pads?

I think the Black may be a bit more of bite than I need....so I passed on that...I wanted a yellow but they had none...I used the green with SIP...and the blue with 106ff so far and and seemed to work great so far....I really wanted 6" but they do not carry them....I have a few places that the 8" is a bit big the get to with risking some worries...I have a few LC purple wools I will use in that area...smaller size...

So the black felt very agressive to me....they would work after a wet sanding ..I am just doing some lite marring and the green and blue work fine for that...

I'll try to get some 6" for my AEG rotary at home, it's a 1200 watt so I'm not sure it can handle 8". At work the new Flex orbital will have 6" wool pads in due time.

the 8" work fine on the flat areas....thats not a problem..its the close areas where I need a 6"..like up near the cowl....door posts...

I get it, hope you get a shipment soon. Since we only got hold of 8"-the agent only bring in the 8" wool pads and not the entire line-I haven't had much choice yet. However, if they don't bring the stuff in one of my friends just might contact Edge to get an exclusive and sell the entire line here in Sweden.

Wool rules! Doesn't get hot like foam and nothing cuts better. That said, I think you should always polish afterwards with a foam pad - Edge's blue. Also, although you "can" use wool on a PC (been there - done that) Step on up and get a rotary, your hands, arms, back , etc will thank you in the morning.

One cool thing about our wool pads other than we make 5 colored textures and the quick connnect auto centering system, is that we are the only company that puts a patented indicator system in the pads to let you know when the wool pad is worn out. Unlike foam which you can see is worn out because it looks ground down, wool pads look like they still have plenty of hair but once that pile height is worn down the pad becomes more like a sanding wheel. Before our indicator system it was just an operator guess as to when the pad was worn out but now a big red circle will appear and let you know the pad is done. Here is a link to an animation of that.

I am taking a breather right now....but so far using a Green 2K wool and SIP is something to see...I am going to do 106FF with a blue wool and finish down with PO85RD on a Blue CCS foam...

Just a thought, if you used our waffle blue or white e2k foam pad you would not have to take the adatper off EVER and the results would amaze you.

Black or even our Natural white (same as 3m) is much more aggresive. check out our chart.

http://www.edgepads.com/products/edge2000wool.htm

maybe i missed something but i did not see a natural white wool pad. i see the black , yellow, a green, blue, and the lambswools. just to get this right. you are saying the natural white more aggressive than the yellow but not as aggressive as the black?

I thought his black was the most agressive pad....and the Natural white was his softest....

the black shows the most agressive cut and the White being a super fine Ultra polishing pad....

I just used his Green and Blue wools and they are very nice....the green gave me the cut I needed...

If AG starts carrying 6" ones in stock I would buy them. I am not buying 8" ones.

i am seeing the same thing. only white i see is the lambswool.

To Clarify,
Natural White is 100% wool cutting pad also an agressive pad. We wanted our wool line to match our foam in color and texture so we made 5 types of wool ranging from heavy cut (black) like our foam to very soft (white lambswool). However there are many people that cannot get over the fact the our 100% heavy cutting pad is Black in color and they requested we also make it in the natural white. So we did, but we don't actively advertise it because it is special ordered by people who have customers that know what white wool is and only want it in that color.

Hope this helps.

so if i am reading this correct. the white and black are the same. only made white wool for those that are use to white wool being most aggressive. am i correct?

i know edge makes presta pads what i was wondering is. are the presta pads a cheaper line of edge pads or are they the same pads?

Ok, so you are reading this right except for one small tidbit of info. When we die the natural white yarns black the die actually encapsulates the fiber and makes is microscopically a bit thicker and hence more agressive than regular natural white wool. This is idea for heavy cutting applications such as heavy oxidation, deep scratch removal, or wet sand removal. The other colored pads do not use dyed yarns but rather mixtures of synthetic acrylic fiber that is precolored. When mixing with natural white wool, the pad takes on the color of the acrylic ie: the Yellow pad is 50%wool 50% acrylic but the only color is from the yellow acrylic.
As far as Presta, they buy our Edge pads in our standard colors, not any cheaper version whatsoever, they are top quality only.

How effective are the Edge 2k wool pads at paint correcting with a PC? I don't have a rotary and wouldn't trust myself with one if I did.
