My blue pad seems to have failed, 2nd time I used it. The center plastic appears to be loose. The pad no longer spins, vibrates badly, and hits the PC. I even put the PC spacer in, no help. Is this a common problem? I got these because I thought they were superior to the LC, but it appears that may not be the case.

Anything I could have done to cause this? I was polishing with Menzera 106FF.

well i had the same problem..talked with meghan about it on the phone and she told me about the washer the PC came with and it was to small and would do anything...we decided to do some washers...

i went out and got 2 locking washers and it works perfect try it out

So the pad hitting the PC caused the failure?

It didn't rub the first time I used it. Only put the spacer in when it started acting up.

ya sum of my pads rubbed and some didnt...but if your pad is hitting the PC its going to stop it..go ahead and put some of those in there to give it some space and see if that works

yea my blue pad is tearing up also 2nd use now and its already tearing up from the middle...

That is interesting news about the washers. Nice picture too.

The center plastic appears to be loose

Could you have broken it when you were putting the pads onto the adapter? If you pres then on with the palm of your hand, you can break the plastic wings that are between the two pads--then the pads will definitely pushup into the DA.

Don't think I broke it putting it on. Tried 2 lock washers today and no help with the rubbing. The foam looks like it has pulled loose from the plastic in the center. It's now off center so bad it really vibrates. Unuseable after one time of polishing. Not impressed.

I've been hearing a lot of problems lately. Makes me think about trying some LC pads. I would forget Edge all together, but I've never heard of these problems w/ a rotary or rotary pads, thus I'll be getting 8" waves when I get my Metabo.

they should have provided the washer with the padsthen since they are selling a product that might not work with the PC even thought it says it will... should be a warning or something

I don't know how you guys are having these issues? I've had mine over a year, and even a custom set of 4" pads they made for over a year ago as well before they came out, myself and friends have never had any of these issues with the Edge pads? I could never use hook and loop/velcro pads again.

Well that means either all PC's arent designed the same or the Edge pads arent designed all the same. There are going to be variances along the line. But Edge needs to start checking their pads before selling them, if they dont already. Its obviously an on going problem that needs to be addressed and quickly.

Since it is busted anyway, do an autopsy--find out what it inside--how it is made.--you will probably see what is broken.

Report back! With pics!

With the 2 washers, does your other pads work? My pads didn't rub with no washer, but they would not rotate.

just use rotary everyone lol jk ...well i love rotary and dnt even really use the PC anymore

You don't need washers with edge pads, don't you think they'd tell you that if ALL their pads would rub the PC's head? Seems kind of odd the problems you guys are having. I have none of them and my Edge kite outperforms my LC pads tenfold.

If I hadn't already washed the pad, I'd post a picture to show the black on the top of the pad from rubbing the machine. Pretty sure I know when the pad is rubbing.

The system is not meant to be used with washers. The pad should not hit anything, and we do check the pads and they are designed for the PC. That being said, we also warrenty the product so just send the blue pad back and we will replace with a new one. Don't know what happened yet, but after we get it back we always inspect them to learn what happened and improve if possible.
