Edge2000 Buffing Pads

The LC have Lambswool Leveling pad and put the microfiber bonnet over for buffing. I know Edge 2000 makes the wool buffing pads. I cannot find it anywhere at Autogeek. I would like to get all pads at Autogeek instead of other sites.

Some suggested to put the microfiber bonnet over the Edge 2000 white pad.

Please advise.

I would shoot Meghan an email [email protected] and tell her your interest in buying the wool Edge pads. I'm sure she can hook you up.:)

There is a technique using the Edge white pad to remove wax, but this was done with the pad alone and not with a MF bonnet over it, but there is no reason that you couldn't use a MF bonnet if you wanted to. I hope this helps. :)
 
do you plan on using lambswool on a PC or a rotary? because thats pretty much a rotary thing as far as i know?
 
I think what he's saying is he's looking for the wool pad that's "fluffier" shaped so he can put the buffing bonnet over it, bonnets form better to the wool ones.

ah, gotcha... i dont know if edge makes them small enough for a bonnet though
 
Wool pads are made for the rotary.

Aaron from EDGE will be at Detail Fest demoing these. He said so many will want to use wool when he gets done!
 
Sorry for the confusion...

I am a newbie with PC and plan to buy a PC from Autogeek this week,(before the free shipping deadline:). What Edge2000 pad(s) do you use for buffing? For example, if you apply polish or sealant with Edge2000 Blue pad, what pad do you use to buff it off? Buff by hand is exhauting.

http://autogeek.net/ed20pocacoki.html This kit would have everything you need. Depending on what type of defect correction you are working with you would need an orange or green pad. The blue pad is for light swirls. And the white pad is for finishing and can also be used to buff off wax residues. :)
 
I have two brand new cars so I might not not need yellow or green pad . To confirm, I can use the white pad for buffing the polish too? Can I put the bonnet over the white pad for better buffing?

You guys are expert, so I will go whatever you recommend.

The white pad is a polishing pad. You would use this pad with a light polish to clear up hazing left over from more aggressive polishing. This polish will j-ewel the surface to a brilliant shine. Aaron from Edge also shared with us a technique he uses with the white pad to remove wax residues. Once the wax is ready to be removed, you remove it with the white pad on setting 5 and it removes wax and buffs the paint to a high gloss. Don't count out the yellow and green pad. If you are like other weekend detailers, your neighbors and friends will very quickly see the results on your own rides and be asking you to do them. You may need them yet. ;)
 
if buffing by hand is exhausting, your putting the wax on too thick most likely. you need a very thin coat usually, dont slop it on. personally buffing with the PC is harder than buffing with microfiber towels...occasionally i try to my microfiber bonnets but i always come back to hand buffing
 
I agree. I tend to paste on the wax and sealant. Lately, I have co-workers, relatives, and friends have asked me to detail their cars. So, I have decided to buy a PC to expedite the process. Hoping to leverage the PC to buff of the sealant/wax instead of using by hand.
 
If the 4" pads are available, the 4" blue is plain out awsome for applying wax/sealant. I can layer down a thin, perfect even layer on my truck in a fraction of the time it takes by hand. The 4" blue is so soft. 6" Edge pads rock, but I don't like the size for applying, the 4" absorbs the right amount of product and stays prepped.
