Eldorado2k?

Hey y’all! How’s it going? Thx for checking up on me. I’m completely fine, I’ve been somewhat busy with detailing and somehow haven’t came on the forum with the feeling that I’ve missed out on so much.

My OCD felt like I had to catch up with everything and I probably would’ve continued to put it off if I hadn’t just decided to bypass my OCD and just come back already.

Not sure what else to say right now, but there’s a few pictures I’d like to share.

Starting with this funny 1. Ever wonder how some wheels get hacked & scratched to death? I’ve always wondered too... Well I came as close as I’ll probably ever get when a friend of my customer asked me if I knew how to get brake dust off of wheels. I said “brake dust? Ah yea that stuff is no problem, it’ll clean right off”
Then he said “I tried to clean it off, but I’m not sure if I messed it up”
We got to his car and I couldn’t help but laugh. I said “what the heck did you clean them with”?
A wire brush. lol. I can’t believe he did that.. Yea, you definitely messed them up. Lol.

I can’t believe some people actually do that. Lol.

Here’s a couple of cool pics. How often do you get to detail 2 2004 Mercury Marauders back to back? Pretty rare right? The burgundy 1 only has 16,000 original miles.

Here’s what I was detailing the day Mike Phillips sent me the email.

And this is what I just finished up yesterday. It’s still parked outside.

Thanks everyone. I really do appreciate it.

Glad you checked in Ric

Although not the original color, that first Maurader looks great in that color

I’d greatly value Ric’s reviews of products. Whenever he mentioned products in the past I found him to be spot on.

There’s 2 products that have recently impressed me. The 1st one is the BriteMax Easy Cut Metal Polish. This stuff actually polished away some fine scratches/oxidation off of plastic chrome. I have to do some more testing, but 1st impressions of this stuff were amazing.

Next is Blackfire Leather Complete. I was in the middle of cleaning the black leather & vinyl of that Camaro when I couldn’t help but feel bad about the amount of black coming off on the towel.. I was using Megs APC at 1st.

Then I tried the Blackfire and wow.. It cleaned without any excess black coming off + left it looking outstanding. This product just gained alot of respect from me. Definitely picking up some more when this bottle runs out.

You’re saying there’s no way that car was born brown?

Not a Maurader They came in silver, burgundy, blue and ofcoarse black

What?? Now you’ve got me thinking... I do recall noticing some areas of that car had definitely been re sprayed, but based on the way it looked I wouldn’t have thought the entire car was repainted. Interesting.

No, I’m saying I wouldn’t have thought that entire car had been repainted brown. Areas on the passenger side were obviously repainted, but the rest of the paint was noticeably higher quality and in great shape to boot. So much so that I didn’t even need to clay or polish that car. It went straight to wax... Yes, I said wax. 1st time in maybe 2yrs. that I decided to wax a vehicle.

Wax is still hazed on the paint in this pic.

The burgundy 1 got a one step. Boy was that paint finicky. Worse than any black car I’ve ever polished by far.

Turned out nice in the end.

I'm thinking it was a quality color change at some point and maybe there was an accident at some point and that's what you observed. Can you get some more pics of the car Ric?

Welcome back! Hope you're able to find a little time to participate, but I'm sure being busy is good for business.

As for the brown Marauder, could it be a standard LTD someone has spent a lot of time and money modifying up to Marauder spec? I don't know about the near-classic, performance tuned Ford sedan world, but in the BMW world I've seen write-ups on cars where people will spend considerable time/money taking a lower trim car and bringing it up to an M Sport or even ///M car trim. Cosmetically they look very similar /identical and they will even swap in suspension and brake parts where able. Most will stop there so all you need to do is pop the hood to see it's not real, but there have been some engine swaps too...

Great work. First thing I noticed about the Marauder was what Klass-Act pointed out about the color of the brown one. Looks great, but not factory. That's ok, though. We had a lot of Trilogy Motorsports (supercharged)Marauders running around this area back in the day. Fast 4 doors! As always, your wheel and tire details still look killer.

I too am impressed with Blackfire Leather Complete. I'll always have a bottle in my arsenal.

Welcome back.

Great to see you back. Love me those 90’s marauders and Impalas. The both came out great! Klasse is right on the colors. Either did a motor swap or a repaint. Looks good in that color though.

Glad to hear your good and been busy.

Welcome back.

Thanks! I love wheels & tires. Besides vacuuming it’s probably my favorite and most satisfying part of every detail.

Glad to hear your good and been busy.

I’ve been busy, but I’ve also been lazy! Gettin older sucks, I need to make some changes and get healthier is what I need to do.

Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread. Truly a collection of my most favorite people I’ve met on this forum along with several more [those people know who they are] But it’s really awesome to see all of you and I’m grateful we’re all still doing well.
