I was finally able to put together all the logistics to do my very 1st detailing at the apartment complex where I live. It’s very challenging not having a place to take care of one’s car, but that could not stop me anymore. Now that I have the know-how and the right products thanks to AG, I could not wait any longer, I had to make it happen.

My wife’s Endeavor is very neglected (we did not know better), but now, I hope to keep it in better shape.

As you can see it needs lots of work:

RIDS, water stains, swirls, bugs…lots of damage

After a good wash (by hand) at the coin place, I "clayed" the whole truck. That was the 1st time ever I used clay. I like it! And it needed it bad! BTW, I only used 1/2 Mothers clay bar, but most of the QD that came with the kit. (How do you store unused clay?)

After the clay, I could see the paint needed a good polish, maybe a compound, but I only had PB Professional Polish and an Orange LC pad, so I went to town on it. :buffing:

This was before the wash and clay, but you can se the damage better

After a good pass with the PB Professional Polish and LC orange pad. The hood scratches are barely visible

It definitely brought the paint back to life

I’m thinking the clear coat is very hard because it still has swirls

Never the less, it’s looking much better. This is after I applied the PB EX-Sealant W/ Carnauba

It was a long arduous 7 Hrs, but I was very happy at the end

Products Used:
Meguiar’s Deep Crystal car wash
Turtle Wax tire/wheel cleaner
Turtle Way bug / tar remover
Mothers CA Gold clay system
Poorboy’s Professional Polish
Poorboy’s EX-Sealant w/ Carnauba
5.5 LC Orange and gray pads
PC 7335
Pinnacle Black Onyx tire gel
Rain-X for the glass
Meguiars vinyl and plastic protector
Brushes and a bunch of MF Towels (the ones from Sam’s :D)

Next I need to tackle the engine bay and the interior

Thanks AG for all your help :dblthumb2:

NOTE: I just wanted to make an observation. The PB products worked VERY well for me but under the HOT sun they did dust a little. Enough for me to have to rise the whole car and dried it before the sealant/wax went on...oh well, one day I'll have a garage

Nice work! You can store the unused clay in a container with a few sprays of your quick detailer.

Thank you for your reply and for the tip

Very nice.
If your clay did not come in a container you can get a travel soap dish to store it.

Thanks Jimmie...My wife actually suggested the same tip :D

I put my clay in a baggie with some QD, but a plastic soap thing would be better. My next OTC clay will be the kit with the container with it, if I don't get the clay from AG.

For a 1st detail you did an impressive job to say the least. The after photos clearly illustrate you took the time and necessary effort of achieve your goals.

Once happy wife I'll bet! :props:

You can also wrap the clay in a sheet of parchment paper (the kind you bake cookies on). It will not stick to the clay.

That's very nice. I just bought a Flex and I'm going to practice on my wife's 2005 Dodge Caravan. I did my first test on an old door panel, but I'm thinking I can give it a go on the Dodge. It needs it badly and if I screw it up then I'll no what not to do on my new Mustang...LOL.

Good job. I hope mine turns out half as nice as that.

Thank you guys for the encouragement and the tips. :xyxthumbs:

You're right, she was very happy with the results and I am proud to be able to apply what I learned from this great/supportive community. Thank you. I can't have enough of AG

YerBuddy, I know your'e going to have great results, like BobbyG said, take your time. Make a plan or lists of tasks in sequential order and go for it :buffing:

The hardest thing for me was finding an appropriate area for the detailing. I had to drag 100' extension cord from my bedroom window, but all in all it was a great learning experience. Now I can't wait to try new products :D
