endurance tire gel, water based?

Other detailer asked me if I he can dilute meg's endurance tire gel,
and I was thinking if it's water based.... why not?

But i cant find the answer if its water based or not.

Any one knows?

I'm pretty sure it's a petroleum product. I haven't tried diluting it.
 
Most water based tire gel dressings are water based. Solvent based dressings are watery.
 
Not water based...but a kick-ass tire dressing, when properly applied.
 
Easiest way to know for sure would be to simply take a small amount of the tire gel, add a few drops of water, and see if they mix.

If they mix, have at it and thin the gel to your desires. If they repel each other or separate after trying to mix, then you could reasonably assume that the gel is not water-based.

Hey briarpatch, can you mention the proper way. I might alter something.
Usually I clean the tires thoroughly with cg clean+ apc 10:1, dry them completely, apply endurance gel to foam applicator and work over it. Then leave it for aprox 15min and rub it out with dry cloth.

Your process looks fine. Taking care of any excess, and allowing it to completely dry is what I was referring to. While I love the look of this stuff, it's one of the more finicky products I've used, and have even let it sit overnight (before driving) when it's really humid. I lean towards water-based products for the most part, but the most important customer I have (my wife) loves this stuff on her tires, and we all know, the customer is always right
