If you guys are like me your daily driver is neglected. I decided to spend a little time to clean up my engine bay. I put about 30 minutes work into it. Obviously, this is not perfection level work but at least looks better. It never ceases to amaze me how a little elbow grease can make so much of a difference.

You should see mine way worse. I have a 04 gtp myself. whats products did you use?

I'd love to know a little more about your process and products as well. I have an '05 GP myself and am looking to do the same in the near future. :xyxthumbs:

It is true...30 minutes makes a huge difference. What did you use on the plastic, 303?

Very nice. And your right my daily driver is severally neglected recently. My engine bay is extremely dirty and I really need to spend a day and just go through the whole truck. It's just had finding the time to do my own truck. Which sucks! I hate driving around in a dirty truck.

did mine with DP engine degreaser. did a good job but be careful on plastics with this stuff, it left like burnt stain on some plastics...but overall it did a great job.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I used Meguiar's Super Degreaser mixed at 4:1. I covered all of the sensitive components, sprayed the super degreaser and let it sit for 45 seconds, used a brush and then rinsed. I blew everything dry with a leaf blower and the used 303 to dress everything.

The Super Degreaser is really some awesome stuff!

Nice. I did something similar last weekend. I was to scared to use any water or something that might mess something up so I used 303 on a cloth and just wiped it off.

Definitely understand the reluctance to wash off an engine but remember it is meant to withstand the elements and be pretty durable! obviously you don't want to drown it or spray water in your intake or something but as long as you use a little care and not to much water risk is pretty limited.

Great job. Beautiful. Never had a problem steam cleaning engine bay but worry every time I start a car after cleaning the engine.

I always wondered about this. Cars go through water from rain and get tons of water in the engine bay. Feed back please

Most people recommend not flooding the electrical components or the air intake but a little precaution and it seems to work fine. I'm not sure how much water actually gets into the engine compartment from driving in the rain but it is not as sensitive as some people believe.
