Engine bay dressing-- what do you use?

I use Hyper Dressing diluted 1:1 just spray and walk away.
Lasts a really long time under the hood. I did this about a month ago and it still looks good.

I just used Meg's UFF and it did a great job. Mckee's 37 waterless wash also works well for me.

I have used most of the products being discussed with good results.
Hyper is just so easy to use for me.

Out of the products listed, like 303, Megs Hyper Dressing, Sonax, etc, which are spray and walk away? I like Stoner's but I know it's not the longest lasting or most effective product on the market. I'd like to stock something for higher end jobs. Thanks.

Hyper dressing at 4:1. Spray and blow into all areas with leaf blower. Wipe and walk away.

PERL 3:1, sonus motor kote, cd-2 engine detailer (if you can still find it)...

Blackfire All In One trim and tire protectant. Has to be wiped off, but can be used as a cleaner too. I don't use it on greasy areas, but for average under the hood dirt and dust it gets the parts looking good with one pass.

Blackfire AIO Trim protectant. Spray and wipe. Also use it inside fender wells.

Eldo, does hyper dressing really level itself that well or do you find splotches that need wiping down after?

Nope no splotches. The same time I did that I had the Kia parked right next to it and decided to put the extra time and effort into the Kia by applying it with paper towels and a detail brush. By the time I was done with the Kia the Cadillac was looking like that after just spraying a mist of Hyper Dressing over it and letting it dry on its own.

Sonus Motor Kote. I'm sure the OP has already decided on one after three years. lol a good post to bring back to lif though.

I still like Sonus Motor Kote the best. It is pricey though, but it lasts and doesn't pick up dust/dirt.

So I got ahold of some OptiBond Tire Gel and diluted it 1:1. I sprayed it on but I couldn't walk away. There were several "drops" like water droplets on the things I sprayed that never went away unless I took it off with a towel. I will admit, the stuff looked great, but I was expecting a little easier spray on walk away type situation. What did I do wrong? Thanks.

Ok I just touched up under the hood a moment ago..

This is how it looked when I opened the hood. Still looking fairly good since well over a month ago.

I have a dedicated vacuum brush that I use just for this, so I gave it a quik vacuum.

Ready to get sprayed with Hyper Dressing.

I sprayed it 9 min. ago @7:30pm. I closed the hood and I’m going to give my interior a quik vacuuming. Lets see how long it takes Hyper Dressing to level itself out.

This is just after 10min. As we can see, it’s almost done leveling itself out.

I’ll check it again in a few minutes..

And here it is after 20min. and no wiping it down.

These small remaining drips are a non factor and will be gone within minutes. I’d pretty much call this a done deal after 20min. Spray & walk away, lasts long, surprising doesn’t attract dirt, and IMO looks pretty good.

It even smells good.

Finally after 30min.
