I got one more question for everyone,,, How does everyone detail ther engine's? I have read the how to sections but I am not sure what to cover before i spray it down. I am afraid I am going to get something wet that im not supossed to. I have a 2005 lincoln LS if that helps. Anyone???

Cover the major electrical components, battery/alt/spark plugs/starter?

If they're exposed, cover your air intake, battery terminals, distributor, spark plug boots and alternator. Most modern cars have this big plastic lid that covers the engine block most components are already protected. My Audi even has the battery in its own housing, and its air intake is covered under part of the front grille. But the alternator is in full view. Good luck!

Here's my Toyota's engine, detailed yesterday with Optimum Power Clean and CD2 dressing (wiped down a little bit for a not-so-glossy satin shine).

I cover the alternator, exposed air intake, belts.
Spray degreaser on a cool engine.
Rinse with minimal stream of water (I've got a nozzle that works good when just cracked open).
Dry with blower.
Dress with CD-2 and wipe.

***Caution=Be sure to remove covering.

I never use any chemical sprays nor pressurized water when cleaning. Use a damp towel and some car wash soap on dirty areas. Use a good detailing spray to keep area new where water tends to stay. Klasse AIO on painted parts and 303 on lines (no silicones as will attract dust)
