Engine Fluids

Not a detailing question.

In my 2003 Jaguar S-Type, a warning light appeared indicating I am low on engine coolant. I checked the fluids and indeed the coolant is low, as is the power steering fluid.

What brand/ type is recommened by everyone out there for these two fulids? The coolant has a label that says use "long life coolant"

check the manual ... since Jaq has been owned by Ford for several years its likely to use their coolant. I believe Power Steering fluid is the same. Brake fluid has different DOT ratings.

When in doubt, go with the car maker's brand. This is as close as you can get to a 100% guarantee of compatibility. Choosing the wrong fluid may also void any warranties if it is the cause of the failure.
