Engine Heat Insulation

Hello everyone just would like to inquire about this problem. I have this on my friends old suv and I wanted to restore it. It has been sitting at the back of the hood as heat insulator since the 90's and now it has been destroyed from age. Wonder if anyone has encounter this problem without buying the new one or if there is something to buy how do I acquire it. Thank you all for helping out. great. im thinking if using a fabrication to restore but if not i moght as well buy a new one. cheers
