We all know what happens when you armor all anything black, all the dust and dirt in town thinks your inviting it over to come play on the nice clean black surface. I know I have read somewhere here about some products that don't act like a magnent for dirt that you can use on engine or black plastic, but for the life of me I can't find it.

What do you guys use to keep it looking good for more than one drive?

UTTG or CD2 for engine compartment.

We sometimes use our "special sauce" for engine plastics that need not look shiney or gooey:

Believe it or not, 1Z cockpit premium.

In general any dressing will leave something on the surface. The best way to deal with it is to use just enough, or wipe on instead of spraying on. ALWAYS wipe off excess, the better wiped the more matte and the less dust acumulation.

ok what is CD2 I can't guess after looking at the product by name page.

CD2 Engine Detailer cleans, shines and protects all under-the-hood parts and surfaces in one step. Just spray it on and walk away. No rinsing, No mess.

Product Benefits:

*Repels dirt, grease and moisture.
*Easy-to-use after engine degreaser.

12.5 oz aerosol spray can

Megs Engine Kote if you can find any! Megs HD works pretty well and it dries to the touch!

That was a good product because it dried to the touch. It was discontinued however not due to performance but due to skew rationalization. If a product doesn't hit a certain number in sales it gets cut from the line.

:)

If you would like to part with ur stash, I will take it off your hands! LOL!! Understandable why they cut it....altho maybe in the present time it would sell well here at AG!

Cd2 is awesome. I use under the hood and under fender wells as well as on any parts of undercarriage that are exposed.

Easy to clean next time. Won't attract dust.

ok what is Cd2 I have tried every type of search I can find on the AGO site and nothing looks even close to what we are talking about.Im the MAN:confused:

Engine compartment I like Meg Hyper Dressing or Finish Kare 108

Just a little side note here. Some engine compartments are designed to draw a huge amount of air over the engines for cooling. I'll give you an example: We have two 2008 RAV4 V-6's and the engine compartment is filthy within a week of a thorough cleaning and using CD2 and countless other products . My previous car, a 2004 Accord (4 banger) would keep a clean engine compartment for months. It is all in the design of how much air is designed to flow over the engine. Every time I open the hoods on our two RAVS for oil checks, etc., I am ill because they are a mess. Airflow has something to do with it in spite of all efforts to keep it clean & tidy.

CD2 is available at Autozone and Advanced...$5.99/can. Probably others, but that's all I have within 50 miles of me...LOL.

Ultima Trim & Tire Guard... No questions, hands down! :dblthumb2:

Note. I have never tried the CD2, I was just trying to help Jons6.7 identify it.

I have tried a few things, and found that whatever I use, as long as I wipe off the excess good, the dirt does not get sucked in like a hoover. I am an Adam's fan and use the VRT quite a bit.
