Essence Marring on Black Tesla Paint?

Did you get it figured out Ryan, I worked on a bunch of these Teslas back in Seattle and can't say I ever had that kind of an issue, but the paint is soft, so your final step has to be light. I used a lot of M205 on them if I recall correctly. You obviously know what you're doing though, so it's a bit confusing that you'd be having this much trouble with it. Hopefully you can figure it out, keep us posted!

M205 or Reflect has always been my go-to finishing polish for Teslas. I haven't done one with Essence yet; however, you should be able to get it to finish down with a Meg's MFFP. White or Green B&S foam pads work well with Essence too.

I have found when I am having micro-marring issues that more often than not it is because the pad has too much built up product and paint residue stuck to it. Cleaning the pad on the fly religiously may solve the issue. Sometimes for insanely finicky paint I'll do my final polishing routine, clean the pad out with compressed air, and make one final very light pass without adding any additional product.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and help. And OCDetail thank you for the phone conversation, gave me a lot of insight on these cars. After much trial and error I found an orange LC HD orbital on the Rupes 21 at speed 3 for 2 passes with Essence to finish best, also have to swap to a fresh clean pad after 2 section passes. And sometimes having issues of Essence fusing itself to the paint (easily remedied with essence on a microfiber towel) still only achieving 95% correction but the customer stopped by and is very happy with the progress and finish. I'll be at this all night but I've got to free up some space in the shop for tomorrow. Honestly all this fuss could be over something so small. I just got a Nebo SlydeZ light that puts out 5000lux. After using my Brinkman for years and never running into this marring issue I'm thinking it was just never visible in sunlight. This light is literally brighter than the sun haha.

The LC Red seem to be doing an even better job. Sad day, I only have one of them. This is the first time I've ever had to use it. Definitely ordering a 6 pack of them after this job
