Essence Plus - top it or leave it alone

The thought was to get a little more wash marring corrected. And used on the coating ending to get some more longevity out of it. The glosspad has some cut to it too even if it's low. A more coarse pad have a little more cut to it or does it not? Or why would carpro claim to get some minor swirls or marring or what you would call it out with the non abrasive essence plus? And seems like they claims to accually be corrected than just fill them. Note that I would not use it this way or use it in another way. The benefit was minimal from the guy who tested this.

It cannot correct, its durable filling, big difference. It does not and cannot abrade paint, it fills. What you reffering to is Essence for correction and filling not Essence Plus. Think of Essence Plus as a glaze/sealant where it fills and leaves a protection layer. It temporarily fills in swirls and marring on the clear coat on uncoated cars and on coatings on coated cars.

i used essence plus with a dual action polisher and a gloss pad on a coated cquartz uk panel that had some minor haze (from not wiping cquk off perfectly)

It beaded perfectly okay for 1-2 months on, after that there was clearly a difference in beading in the spot i had polished but the spot still looked perfect. so im guessing it flattend out the coating.

just my experience...

so im guessing it flattend out the coating.
Maybe it knocked down some high spots? I would suspect that it filled more than anything.

The question I have about Essence Plus is that if it's really a glaze-like product, it shouldn't be any different than any other topping for a coating, correct? It should wear off over time and leave an in-tact coating in place, similar to applying Reload over a coating.

That doesn't seem to be the case. What I've read here leads me to believe that it permanently changes the hydrophibicity of the coating. If that's the case, I have to question what the point of it is. I have some and will test it over CQUK when the weather improves.

I was toying with the idea of using Essence Plus with a gloss pad and then using Gliss? Will it fill in the few small little marks on the coating without messing up my coating?

It is not recommended use Gliss over essence plus but that does not mean it can't be done. Check out these videos and you can determine if you want to test it out.

So he did exactly what I'm thinking of doing....even though it isn't recommended. Interesting.
