What would happen if I were to use Essence on a car that has let's say 1 year old Cquartz on it. Would it remove the Cquartz?

Depends... I've repaired fine scratches in CQuartz FINEST without removing all of the coating (evident by hydrophobic properties staying the same on entire panel). FINEST is thicker than CQ or CQUK though so I'm not sure how much polishing the consumer grade coatings could withstand.

With that being said, Essence is THE PERFECT product for refreshing an existing CQuartz coating layer. Even if it does remove all of the existing coating you have already "primed" the surface with a new fresh silica layer, ready to top with another CQuartz coating to build an even thicker layer of protection.

That's what I was getting at. So even if it doesn't remove it, I can still go ahead and put Cquartz back on the car?

As I understand, yes.

On Carpro USA's website, I believe there is a list of the attributes of Essence. You do not have to be a member there if you choose not to be, to read the many posts about the product
