Thanks, great advice...I was reading Dan Kennedy and his marketing books...and he always says pick and choose your customer...know when to walk...know your customer before you start...I am quilty accepting customers for wrong reasons...
 
Mike, I read you post and AGREE with most of the stuff here. I agree that you need to walk a client around their car, however, most clients dont really understand how to actually detail a car. Its similar to a contractor or any service job. Not everybody knows how to frame a house or build a rocket. Its why we come in to educate.

True...but some people don't want to learn :buffing:

unfortunately yes, however, I look at it as an increased relation with customer to client. I feel detailing a car should be like buying a car. You know what you are getting before you pay and there is a consensus on how things will be done

When I first started I was simply floored and amazed at the level of shine one can achieve. For the hell of it, I did an 8hr paint correction job on my friend's Honda Element for free. He was very pleased and very impressed.... but now he constantly asks me to polish his car... FOR FREE! :doh:

I've read a few Dan Kennedy books, he's good.
