Evansville, Indiana - Going to be in town in October

It's that time of year again and Max and I are going to be in Evansville, Indiana to film brand new shows for My Classic Car with Dennis Gage.

I'm looking for a few cars for the show, I'll post details on Monday. So bookmark or subscribe to this thread if you're in the Evansville area.

Basically I'll be looking for at least two classics or street rods to have on the set as eye candy as well as demonstrate on. Just to note, in the last three years all the cars we've used on the set there's never been any problems and in fact, just the opposite.

Last year when I was in a town I held a mini detailing class at Scott Molden's shop and we had a huge turn out PLUS the man himself, Dennis Gage, attended and hung out with us for over an hour and talked shop and signed autographs. So for those of you that attended, good job. For those that could have and didn't... well if you snooze you lose...

I don't think there will be time for a detailing GTG this year as our schedule is very tight, there will be time for a meet & greet however like we hold on here in Stuart after the Saturday Detailing Boot Camp Class.

Here's some pictures from last year....

We're also going to have the option to have a modern car on the show, it's going to need to have easily visible black plastic trim that is weathered but not so far gone that it cannot be saved.

Anyway, just a heads up. I'm looking for some cars and I'll be contacting some of my regular contacts in the area to see if they have a car or know of a car.

This will be Autogeek's 4th year on My Classic Car as the Title Sponsor and this year will be bigger and better than ever!

Hmm...that almost sounds like a trim restorer product is on its way from PBMG...

Mike,

The little short guy (ha ha) standing directly to your left in that photo is the guy to get in contact with. He's in TN at the moment at the Frog Follies show, but will be back soon.

I just spoke with him on the phone and told him about this thread, but he's sort of preoccupied at the moment with the show and that's understandable. Something to do with not being able to hear me too well with all the noise. Huh! Noise at a car show...go figure. LOL!!!

I received an e-mail from my friend Matthew who works for Gold Eagle who makes 303®, STA-BIL®, etc. has offered these cars for our segments if his schedule will work so he can bring the cars.

Very Cool!

Thank you Matthew for
A: Reading our forum.

B: Trusting us with these beautiful cars
As I work through the behind the scenes work involved with shooting a TV show I'll let you know about these candidates.

Again... very cool cars and VERY nice of you to get a hold of me with the offer and the pictures of the car.

Jordan Young, a friend on my Facebook page has offered these,

  • 1991 Trans Am
  • 1993 BMW 850CI
  • 1995 NSX

Here's the Trans Am...

Jordan attended the Evansville, Indiana Class I taught in the picture in the first post of this thread. Thanks Jordan!

Any car on the set has to be approved by management at both Madstache and Autogeek, I'm more or less the guy in charge of rounding up some choices.

:)

Mike, Not a problem I hope our schedules line up. Full disclosure for everyone on the forum. I work for Gold Eagle Who recently acquired 303 Products . I was an avid user of the product before hand for the Mustang and White 300H's convertible top and interiors, along with the fabric guard for my friends Chrysler Town and Country Convertible and our classic boats. 303 is what brought me to the Auto Geek forum looking for a place to buy 303. Since then I've been on the forum as a hobbyist learning about high quality waxes and proper techniques prior to Gold Eagle's involvement with 303.
Gold Eagles mainly manufactures automotive chemicals. STA-BIL fuel stabilizer, HEET gas line antifreeze, Octane 104 Octane Boost, and many others.

Mike,

First off glad to see your coming back to Evansville! Last's years detailing night was a blast. I'm from the local area and know several guys with some pretty awesome rides! I will make some calls and shoot some messages and see if I can't come up with something!

Thank you for chiming in and adding that... :dblthumb2:

Cool. Good to hear. Please keep me posted...

What is the current plan? I'll try to make it, but I'll be out of town from the 17th through the 20th.

The plan is we're flying in the week of October 15th, shooting on the 16th and 17th and flying out on the 18th.

I'm still working on getting cars for both the 16th and 17th. On the 16th the cars need to be classics or street rods, no new cars.

We have some wiggle room for a newer car on the 17th but will still need two cars a couple of guys have offered some options in this thread.

As for a Meet & Greet, Scott Molden has suggested the Hornet’s Nest for Thursday night.

That's it so far... but so far so good...

:

I'll be leaving Thursday for Atlanta. Give me a call if you and Scott would like to have dinner one of the other nights.

See everyone at SEMA...

Hornet's Nest or Hornville Tavern - both are great local places to eat!:hungry:

Hi Mike...

Is it possible to attend Thursday, October 17th's filming?

If so:
May I ask the location of the shoot?

Thanks.

:)

Hi Chris,

Our schedule is real tight when we're in town and the only free night I'll have will be Thursday night after taping.

Sounds good. Scott Molden is contacting some of his buddies too.

I think I've been to the Hornville, with a name like Hornet's Nest , this is a must see while we're in town.

Hi Bob,

Sorry to say but "no". Production time is very costly and there's a lot involved in getting all our segments taped in just too days so the set is closed except for mandatory personnel.

:)

Thanks for your response Mike.

Thought I'd give it a shot...I understand though.
Maybe after the taping.
