Are there any chemicals other than chrome polishes that will
Remove the black soot type deposits on exhaust tips?
Thank you

And I'll gree with the other 2 P21s polishing soap. Does work well!

And Welcome to the Geek!

1st of all - take the tip off and paint it with flat black spray paint - it really does not get that hot so any flat black will do. You will have to clean it a lot less - in fact just a swipe when you are washing with your "tire and wheel" mitt or towel will do it:

I personally like the polished style exhaust tips.

Ever tried using Iron x on the exhaust tip, if it does well with rims then it should do well on a smaller area.

Not a chemical, but I use fine or ultra fine grade bronze wool. It is agressive enough to remove soot, but milder than steel wool so it won't scratch or marr the finish of steel and chrome tips (I've never tried it on aluminum before). It can leave behind a bronze tint that is easily removed.

Why hasn't anyone said Never Dull? $7, sold everywhere and I've used it on everything from chrome and polished wheels to exhaust tips and grilles. Never had a scratch or nothing...

I'm a huge fan of Never Dull also, but some of the best stuff that I found over the counter is White Diamond Chrome Polish.

What about Menzerma metal polish? Apparently that stuff was so popular that AG was always sold out when I tried to buy it.

Ive never run into a problem with using Mothers Mag polish on exhaust tips. Cleans them up well and gets rid of most baked on dirt also.
