Extender for small backing plate

Watching the Thursday night webcast, I saw one of the guest detailers using an extension on a buffer which allowed him to hold the machine several inches further away from the finish. He was using a smaller backing plate (3 inch, 4 inch?). Not sure if he was using a Flex or a DA. I'm hoping it's available for DA.
I've searched the store under adapter, extender, haven't found it. Any ideas on the name, manufacturer, something to help me find it?

It isn't several inches, only a couple. But I am guessing it was a 3 inch HT pad with a the Flex Foam backing plate. Flex-Foam HD Rotary Backing Plate, spot buff backing plate, 3" backing plate, circular polisher backing plate

Here is the adapter. Double-Sided Pad Rotary Adapter,

These can only be used with a rotary polisher though.

Well, rats. I ran across a couple of places while working on my car yesterday and thought, hey, that extender I saw on the webcast would certainly be handy right here.
