extension cord is a bit...stiff

Coiling cords was like my job in the Navy. I was an Aircrewman on MH-53Es and we had 100 ft. communication cords(aka "long cords") that were way more delicate than extention cords. I could wind one up with no kinks or figure eights in about 20-30 seconds. If someone ever wrapped one around their arm like an old rope they would get some serious counseling and training. It was an art and I took a lot of pride in how well preserved I could keep the long cords I used. You think a 100ft. extension cord is pricey, try purchasing a 100ft communication cord at Navy pricing.:) Sorry for the rant but, I'm just a little passionate about cords.lol

Good to hear! Every chance I get I try to teach someone the art. Sometimes they look at me like I'm nuts. LOL :)

Thank you for your service Shaun! :dblthumb2:

In other words, The Chief is gonna two-block you tail feathers BIG TIME!

yea, about the arm to hand motion,im doing that currently. I think I should try stretching the cord out and then rolling back up the right way....

Was proud to serve.:) Thanks for the respect.

That's one way to put it Bill.LOL Crazy the little things we would get beat over the head about, but it's the little things that can have a huge impact. Made me the detailer I am today:)

Stretch it out and starting in the middle and coiling up the two halves separately may help. Then stretch it out again and try coiling it all up from one end. Letting it bake in the sun on the tarmac or concrete will help too. To keep it all coiled together get some Velcro straps or you can wrap about a foot of each end around the coil and connect the connectors. Just don't force the end to meet if you do the wrap around technique.

I have a large cable cuff which is good for "large" situations like this. Thanks for the help, it was good listening to everybody's issues with cords, (makes me think differently).
