F-150(Complete Turn-around)

Wow Tad, you really outdid yourself here. You have a lot more patience than I do, LOL! I really have to say you did an excellent job on the entire truck, especially the interior and undercarriage, which is where skills and patience really shine.

I know you wanted some feedback, and the only thing I can think to ask is, what buffer did you use on the paint? The only reason I ask is when I use PO85RD with a blue pad on a DA, it never leaves a finer finish than a gray pad does. I think the blue/red/gold pads are too soft to break down the polish. If you used a rotary with the blue pad...perfect. If you did use a DA, just keep that in mind in the future. Obviously not a big deal if you did as the finish on that truck came out freakin AWESOME!

Hi Tad,

This is an exceptional write-up and demonstration of your versatility in all segments of car detailing and a showcase example of your skills.

For anyone ever wanting to post a great write-up of their process including before and after pictures, this is a text book outline to follow.

Thank you for taking the time to set down your tools, frame-up your shots as you worked through this project and then later for taking the time to sift through all your photos, pick through the best shots that tell the story and then uploading and inserting them into a thread to help others understand the process and see the real-world results from your perspiration and persistence to start the project and see it through all the way to then end which included this thread.

Is this HAMMERITE paint you're using?
(Looks like it from the appearance, good stuff)

I really like this shot, almost looks like a practice target in the paint!

Thank you for the kind words Matt, I appreciate it. I used a PCxp, next time I will try a gray pad with the 85rd. Thanks for the input!

Looks great. I wish my 9 yr old truck looked that good.
Thank you!

Thank you for the great compliments Mike. It is humbling to hear, and I appreciate you taking the time to look through my novel and provide such comprehensive comments. No it's not Hammerite paint, it is Loctite rubberized spray on undercoating (seems like great stuff too). It is my pleasure to have shared.

EDIT: I am sorry I wasn't thinking when I answered this. The under carriage was all shot with Loctite rubberized spray on undercoating. The drums were shot with mat finish high temp. engine paint. (I just happened to have some laying around).

Hey Adam, thanks for the kind words. I would love to come to S. Florida! Tell ya what, you buy me a round trip ticket and I'll detail your DD.lol You must have missed this in the begining. (I actually used 105 for the first step and MANY cyan hydro pads).
Paint Correction:
Step 1 = m105 and several cyan hydrotech pads (91% IPA wipe down).

Step 2 = m205 and several tangerine hydrotech pads (91% IPA wipe down).
Step 3 = Menz 85rd and a few LC CCS blue pads.
(I used PakShak microfiber “Ultra edgeless white towels” for polish removal and PakShak ultra plush towels for IPA wipe downs).

You know there new wheels right? lol But seriously I sealed the backs with Klasse/Collinite 845, and the fronts will get sealed with Poorboys world wheel sealant.

Super job Sir. Great write up and thank you for taking the time to share it. Wheels look great on that truck too.
