F430 or ......

My dealer informed me that the F430 should be replaced in as little as 6 months?

What will be the replacement? Can't remember seeing anything about it. The one that I have seen won't be out for a while, a lot longer than six months.

I walked by the Lamborghini dealership in Los Gatos, CA, this weekend and MANNNNNNNN I was in heaven!!!

Ok, then how about this

Can you please give me an example of a mass produced German car sold here in the U.S.A which has cheap looking materials? Japanese cars I can give you multiple examples, but I'm having trouble with a German car.

Absolutely though some German cars break A LOT. I speak from experience.

Some VW's are very cheap looking. One of my neighbors have had nothing but problems with hers. VW also owns Audi, Lamborghini and Bentley just to name a few. It does not mean that all their makes and models are cheap.

You're right, there are plenty of cheap looking European and American cars, absolutely. I was speaking about the higher-end market where I find that American cars are still lacking when comparing them to European category equivalents.

Not looking to start a war here, just voicing my opinion. There is only one American sportscar that I would purchase and that's a Viper.

I know your not not trying to start a war P1et and I respect your opinion. In my opinion there are cheap cars both domestic and foreign and there are good cars both domestic and foreign. If someone likes a foreign car I think they should buy it. I have both domestic and foreign cars. I buy cars based on how the look and feel to me. I don't care where they are made.

Even better example for German cars feeling cheap, Benz's and BMW's have not only way more issues then they used to, but just do not feel as solid, heck close the door on a late 80's early 90's Benz and it slams with a thunk like a Bentley or Rolls and car feels as solid as a tank. BMW's new interiors especially the 3 series are harder and cheaper. E55 was in the shop more then my driveway. And if you really want to see somebody pissed off in their German car, take a ride in my friends 750 and listen to him curse the i-drive/nav unit, 1 year so far and no dealership has been able to fix the glitches that car has, replacing the unit did not help, he punched it one night lol. Funny part was he went from a 745 plagued with problems, to a 750 plagued with problems, not really mechanically moreso all the electronic gizmos.

Agree, everytime I hear somebody say "oh the interior on the Viper isn't as nice as my Lexus so I didn't buy one" makes me want to beotch slap them in the face. They obviously do not understand the purpose of the car nor have the balls and aren't worthy enough of the privledge lol, if Dodge put woodgrain and 10 cupholders and fancy looking trim in it I'd castrate the CEO. Or how about "I thought about the GT3 but it drives to harsh for me" whaaaaat, idiots, go back to your cushy Escalade lol, you deserve to be donkey punched.

And forgot, as far as Japanese, sisters 1st car was an Acura TL-Type S back when they came out years ago, I think it went through 3 transmissions in less then 20K miles b/c Honda put a tranny in that couldn't support the power of a friggen Civic, and it was a rattle trap.

Nothing like a good donkey punch every once in a while Surfer, damn straight!!!

My buddy is letting me borrow his F30 for a week to "test it out" before I make my decision. I have driven both AMs Vantage and DB9, the vantage is amazing but I feel like AM retarded its performance so it wouldn oust the DB9. I really liked both but its not as raw as the F430. I guess if I wanted raw I would go for a Viper ;). I might go check out the 08 Vipers just for safe measure?

Ill report back.

The Vantage is a little down on power and performance compared to competitors, should have injected it with a little more "mojo". DB9 is pry the best sport/gt type car, extremely comfortable yet drives great, and the sound of the exhaust when opened up is to die for, nevermind sexy looking as hell. Who would have thought two Ford V6 blocks stuck together would create a hell of an engine lol. The Viper, is like banging the hottest stripper at the club, wild animal :D , and it stomps on the F-cars at Moroso and Sebring here with a good driver, problem is people feel uncomfortable pushing it hard b/c of no save your butt gizmo's and it drives just like a race car, you have to have smooth and solid inputs in turns, start jerking around and you'll be heading towards the wall :D, true drivers car.

But for what your looking for, I'd say the DB9 rocks. And if you can, find one with the 6 speed manual, very rare but match made in heaven with that engine. Personally, I'd take an Gallardo anyday over an F430, look at at least an 06+ as slight power increase and better gearing, night and day difference compared to an 04/05, sharper gearing really wakes the car up.

Im just looking for something fun, i already have the M5 for my daily. My only reservation on the Viper is that Ive owned an 98 and I HATED it..... But I have heard great things about the 08 so I may want to try it out.

A couple of my buddies were saying I probably wont like the AMs because they are too muted. I dont really care aroudn 0-60 or quarter mile times, thats soooo american haha, I am more about enjoying the car and the driving experience. ie 360.gt3.S2000.NSX.Ae86 <--- some of the funnest cars I have driven.

You may not like the new Vipers, they are still raw and brutal, your 98' didn't even have abs, they are just pure and raw drivers cars, our 01' ACR I love. Think I had some pics on here awhile ago, its a car you have to man handle and thats whats so rewarding especially on the track. Still have the ugly brown 1980 Porsche SC for track duty as well lol. I've driven plenty of cars, and its still about the only one that just makes your bones tingle, but again thats me, I love raw drivers cars. You would like the guys down the street, has a red NSX thats loud as hell, modified by x-factor or something like that?

I don't even like sport/gt type cars, and would take the DB9 is a second. I consider the Porsche Turbo in the same class, not a true sports car (GT3 is) and no matter how much quicker it is then the DB9 I found it to be borring as hell, like fast Lexus, and we've owned plenty of Porsches so saddens me to say that. 993TT was a raw beast, 996/997TT have been taken to the vet and neutered. Get a GT3 and send it to Manthey for some work, one hell of a fun car!

Hey Surfer,

Why don't you tell us how you really feel:D

:D I think they should have mandatory driving school and courses for people buying cars like ZO6, Carerra GT, Ford GT etc, and especially the Viper with no traction control or anything. Too many idiots buying the cars and totaling them. Couple years ago when the 996 GT2 came out, father here bought his 16 year old son one for 1st car. Couple days later, what happens, car was completely mangled as he lost control and female passenger was critically injured and I don't think ever fully recovered (theres a reason the GT2 was known as the Widow Maker). His father said he didn't know that was the type of car it was, his son just wanted a Porsche and this Porsche in particular so he bought it. Then the other news story couple months ago with the guy buying a Viper and totaling it literally half a mile from the dealership, he had never driven one before, and I guess thought it was a normal car to look cool in lol.

Could have sworn I read sometime back that Dodge, Porsche, even GM was going to implement some type of driving program that had to be met 1st before you could own their "high-end" car. People crashed the Carerra GT left and right like crazy.

BMW is sending me to "M driving school" in Dec for free :) I get to take a guest, it should be fun. They said for every attedant there, there will be 3 M cars. 1:3 ratio :)
