fabric protectant

well there is 303 aerospace and 303 fabric guard.
Aerospace is marketed towards multiple uses, on bottle face it says "vinyl, rubber, plastic, leather, fiberglass"

While Fabric guard is marketed towards carpet, upholstery and fabrics

if anything, I would think Aerospace is just more durable?

303 Aerospace Protectant and 303 High Tech Fabric Guard are 2 completely different products. The Aerospace Protectant as you read on the label is for plastics, rubber, vinyl, finished leather, etc. High Tech Fabric Guard is for fabric/ carpet etc.

I work for 303, a few notes on Fabric Guard. Make sure your surface is clean and use a cleaner that does not leave any residue. Let the fabric dry completely. It actually works best if you let it dry out in the sun. When I clean my buddies 48 Chrysler Town and Country convertible top I put the fabric guard on inside then pull the car into the sun for it to dry.

MPBGT, How long does Fabric Guard last on interior surfaces? My initial application seems to still be going strong after 2 1/2 years. I would think that seating surfaces would eventually need another application.

I have those thick cloth sport style seats. 13 accord sport. Is it too new to use this

Is aerospace a better product than scotch guard-

I'll assume that you mean is Fabric Guard Better than Scotch Guard, I'm kind of Biased so this may not answer your question. There is a product for everything and every product may have it's advantages. 303 Fabric Guard is the only recommended Fabric Guard for All Sunbrella Fabric which is one of the biggest manufacturers of Outdoor Fabric on the market. That being Said going back through this post there are many good products that will do a great job listed. It's a matter of preference

Theoretically yes, but the more you abrade the surface ie getting in and out of the car/Wash your convertible top/ etc the faster it wears off. So you would have to recoat your drivers/front seats sooner than your rear seat if it's not used much. It comes down to use and how well it was applied. A clean residue free surface is key to longevity of the product.

Honestly I'm not familiar with the seats, I'm just a hobbiest detailer. To my knowledge we have never had an issue or a claim come back. Like with anything I would do a test spot just to make sure.

I have tried DG 341. Applied from the bottle to a micro fiber applicator in the garage 80- 90 degrees F. I let it sit for a few days and applied water with a spray bottle. I expected the water to bead up and wipe off, all I received was a wet seat. Reapplied another coat same outcome. Went to the wifes van that sits out 24/7 and applied the same way in 107 degrees. Went out today with spray bottle, same outcome, wet seat. Applied 303 fabric protector in garage yesterday 90 + in garage with green micro fiber. Went out today with spray bottle, same outcome, wet seat. Am I expecting something that is not going to happen ?. Just sprayed the seat with UIGP and will try the spray on the seat tomorrow.
This maybe the first disappointment in a DG product unless it is me either expecting to much or doing some thing wrong.

303 is the best. Better than scotch guard by far.
Been using for 5 years. Durability is fantastic with complete fabric protection. No stains will occur.
Highly recommended.

Dave, that's surprising. I typically pour or spray onto a foam applicator pad and immediately wipe on the area. Once dry, you can heat it up with a heat gun. Did you use enough? It has worked so well for me. Jerry did say it likes heat to set up properly. You shouldn't have had a wet arse!

I think it's the best kept secret because nobody stocks it and the only way to get it is to order directly from duragloss.

Demand=stock to meet demand. I'll bet if several try it and want more, AG would stock it. I'm telling you my 303 sits collecting dust now.

I like to use solvent based protectant on carpet and upholstery. Way more durable than water based.

The only thing different than what you describe is I used a micro fiber pad and did not use a heat gun as the garage was in the 90's and when I did the van it was 107-109. I will try a yellow applicator sponge next ( no microfiber) and see if that makes any difference. I was pouring onto the micro and wiping across the fabric.
I also was wondering about using enough although the micro was pretty wet so I did the same seat again with the same result. Just to verify the product it is 341, clear and pours like water. I have 2- 8 oz. bottles if this does not work I will try the 2nd just to try to verify I do not have a problem with the bottle I am currently using (chances are slim)

^^^:iagree:^^^

Just as I find their stain removal products/kit top-notch...
Same goes for Jon-Don's carpet & upholstery Protectants.

If unable to source in a timely manner:
It's 303's High tech Fabric protectant, for me.

I could be wrong but I believe 303 should just be sprayed on and left to dry. Not sure why you are rubbing it in with a Microfiber. Maybe that's why it's not working for you. I just sprayed on a single coat a few years ago and it still beads liquids like crazy.

Yeah I just checked the directions and it says to spray onto the fabric and let dry and does say to apply out in the sun so it dries better. I'm going to be doing this at work, actually before I go in because I work 12:30 till 9 p.m. so its sitting out in the sun for the majority of the day. That said, should I crack the sunroof? If so, I now have a use for the sunroof, LOL.

Yes, that's the product and it's description. The only other thing I would suggest Dave, is to call Jerry directly and ask him. 1-800-638-7245

Yes you are right, old age syndrome. Sometime today I remembered the last time I used 303 (been awhile) I did just spray it on. Probably answers that question.

This morning before going to work at 4:30am I reapplied 341 with a yellow foam applicator. Sprayed water on the seat at 2:15pm. Same outcome, wet seat. After remembering and being reminded 303 is sprayed on and not wiped (DUH) I loaded 341 in a spray bottle and went to it with one of the seats. We will see tomorrow, garage temp is 108 when applied. I really wish the 341 wipe method would have worked as it can be controlled alot better than a spray.
