Anybody been following this story/rumor? What have you heard about it? What do you think about it? What other social media marketing solutions are there and how do you use them?
 
That's pretty ridiculous being that right this second the lead story on CNN.com is that Zuckerberg stands to make $1 billion from the Facebook IPO.
 
This is the first I've heard this, but it makes me smile. :props:
 
No, no, no. Facebook will shut down on Friday, December 21, 2012 - the last day of the Mayan calendar - when the world ends.

That may be the total value of the IPO, or the value of his remaining shares, they were saying that the shares that Zuckerberg himself is selling as part of the IPO could be worth up to 1.1 billion.
 
If anyone wants an alternative to Facebook, LinkedIn.com is a good one for a more professional social network.
 
In related news, General Motors will be shutting down due to selling too many cars.

LOL well, if you really are looking for an alternative (whether FB shut down or not), I'd say Google+. It's had at least one feature from the start that FB STILL doesn't have after two major overhauls of its look & feel. The ability to EDIT stuff you post. In FB if you post something and say for instance have a bunch of spelling/grammar errors you'd like to fix, you can't do anything except delete the whole thing and repost. Google+ you just click "edit", fix it, and you're done.
 
Ya there have been numerous claims in the past claiming Facebook to be shut down. I'm not buying this one either.

Google+ is an awesome alternative. I'd like to use it more, but most of my friends and family still only use Facebook. The Youtube and video conferencing integration is really easy to use. I still have my fingers crossed for Google+ to take off.
 
I doubt they would have just gone public of they were planning a shutdown.
