For some reason people put on some rose tinted glasses. Ignored the fact that they themselves and most everyone around them doesn't trust Facebook with personal data. Nor do they have a true way of their own grow profits.
People just thought, this could be the next Microsoft...I might regret it 20 years down the road. Well, they already regret it because they threw all their actually feelings about the company out the window on hope it could be something it's not.
The moment they create an actual profit making side of their business, things can change, but Google+ might beat them to if, ya know, if anyone actually decides to use it.
