I have done a few avalanches, I own one also. So, my preference and combination is the Tuf shine black restore with the clear coat. I also slide a coat of UTGP on every few months. Before UTGP is applied, the plastic still looks good. How much does it help? I don't know but it has worked so far so I will keep doing it. My Avalanche has cladding on the upper area around the bed only.
This summer I took it off my bumpers, mine just have plastic on top. Then applied D lux to these areas. D lux is "Shinier" than tuff shine/UTGP combo.
I'm still up in the air about it. Application was a lot more work than the other. The back bumper destroyed a suede applicator, make up pad, and then I went with a foam wedge make up applicator. This foam soaked up a lot of product but, out of the 3 I tried, was the only one that I could use more than a 1/4 of the bumper.
Front bumper was smoother so it was a lot easier. Both bumpers still look good so I don't believe durability will be an issue.
D lux was also applied to my gf jeep at this time. No applicators were destroyed like on the avalanche. However, I did have an area not look 100% perfect. Kind of looked like strips, but could only see them at certain angles. This was on 1 mirrior which was cleaned 3 times with different cleaners then eraser wipe down.
For me and my opinion only, tuff shine is easier to apply. Durability- to early to tell.
Both seem to be excellent products and you can't go wrong with either one of them
