this makes me sick. there are so many unfortunate people out there who are in real need and then you have someone like this (looks like he lives in a expensive home near the beach) who is dishonest and cheats people out of their hard earned money. pathetic.

I worked in Boston for 14 years and used to see this all the time. You become very good at profiling who's homeless and who's a bs artist....And there are a lot of them...

There are a few like him here in Syracuse. It's easy to tell especially if you offer something other than money or cigs.

Trespassers on his property?
What!!! No Rottweiler and AK47!!
This guy gives panhandling a bad name.

Bob

Tons in Rochester too. I love to see the nice coats they have or shoes.

Disturbing to say the least. I remember a while back a thing on a woman in New York who dressed up like a crippled elderly woman and was bringing in hundreds of dollars a DAY doing this.

I'd say the people with the camera in this video need to find something to do too. They should pair up with the fake homeless dude and get real jobs. And not walk around filming and talking over each other all day. If they got time to walk around and tape people they got time to work an actual job too. I grew up and lived in NYC for 25 years ain't the first nor last fake homeless person. Hell Eddie Murphy made it comedy legend to do this, nothing new.

This reminds me of a racket I came across while in NYC. A guy is walking down the street with a small paper bag and purposely bumps into me. He was pretty lame, sort of obvious it was on purpose. He then proceeds to drop the bag, as if it was my fault for me bumping into him.

Bag drops, and a big glass bottle of "liquor" falls out of the bag and smashes on the concrete. When the bottle breaks, its obvious to me this is a scam. Then dude starts getting loud and carrying on I need to "buy him a bottle". I start getting loud and telling him to get bent (not in those words).

So, then we start pushing each other. Nobody swings, I think because neither of us wants to go to jail. A spectacle forms. People start gathering around forming the "fight circle". This is going on in NYC around Times Square.

Then due to the spectacle going on, a cop comes up. Everything stops. The guy tries his story with the cop, but the cop bends over and smells the spilled liquid and realizes its just water. He then tells dude to clean up the glass and get lost.

True story.

I see this typically once a day here in NYC on my way to/from work they become easy to ignore. Trying to walk up to your car for handouts with a sign stating there case.
