Has anyone ever detailed farm equipment, tractors etc? And if so is it just like detailing a car?

Are you referring to 'working equipment' or the stuff you see in a parade?

Bill

i live in western nc and i detail a lot farm equipment, not the parade stuff the real farm stuff. john deere tractors, hay bailers, trackhoes, bulldozers, from very big down to the lawn mowers we have detailed it some of this equipment cost more than most high end cars and dont get to set in a garage so it makes sence to keep it detailed.i pressure wash it down first real good then just treat it like anything else, besure to tell them to regrease everything after your done so if you have washed any bearing dry of grease

All I do with equip is pressure wash then spray wax as I dry. Buffing one that is used for work is pointless. And if they pay well, a coat of wax.

I detail my John Deere tractor at least once a year. (My tractor is always in the garage when it is not being used.) I wash it regularly. The paint is single stage and soft. I usually use just a good cleaner wax by hand. Go gently. If I tried to remove all the micromarring and swirls, I'd be down to bare metal in no time.

I do not do anything serious with the implements that go with the tractor (shredder and blade). I simply hose them off.
