Went to a Father's day show and shine this morning and saw a bunch of beautiful cars. The problem was I couldn't stop seeing swirls. I could count on one hand the amount of swirl free vehicles at the show out of the 300 in attendance.

Here are a few of the bad ones.

I went to one yesterday, I asked them how they detail their cars..., each had various answers. Probably not AGO friendly lol.

I think I was more annoyed than anything. I had to turn away when I saw a gentleman wiping down his 100k car with a dirty rag and a jar of dirty water.

I hear you, it reminds me of the saying. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink it.

Go figure :dunno:

:doh:yea...this stuff pisses me off....i can barely go to shows anymore...ppl have no idea.....then i throw my business card at em and hope they get a clue...:pc7424:

Same thing in my neck of the woods. We have a bunch of car events going on during the summer and every one Ive gone to I'm shocked to see how many cars have swirls. I too count on one hand how many are swirl free.

I'm sitting here shaking my head at those swirls!

I've experienced the same thing at car shows and it frustrates the crap out of me!

Those cars look horrid! I hope you left your card on the windshield.

The sad part is they think that`s normal. We could fix most of that.:buffing:

I see this all of time too. Evan.J and I observe many at one club in particular. It's such a shame.

i went to one over the weekend also, about 250 cars. only 1 that was swirl free. it was a 67 Corvette that was a full custom build. it took 8 years to build, but it was a Riddler Great 8 car.

So, as a "real car care newb" how does one prevent swirls?

Biggest thing to do is learn proper washing techniques, avoid the swirl-o-matic and invest in quality supplies such as microfiber, grit guards and good car soap.

I wonder......,

If instead of leaving your card on the windshield you left it on the paint....

Hear me out everyone,

If they say "hey! What gives dude...! Your scratching my paint!

You then say, "well sir, I am glad I got your attention. The scratches that I could have possibly introduced to your paint are not as deep as the swirls it already has. So I am going to be polishing them out anyway. Well only if your interested, there's my card and feel free to give me a call so I can take care of you"

How does that sound guys? Yay? Nay? :D

I think this needs work...,

there's my card and feel free to give me a call so I can take care of you

^ Any ideas on how to seal the deal? For the finishing line?

So you're saying scratch the guys paint and say hey, its not as bad as what your doing to your finish. Better hope you don't get punched in the face.:nomore:

Well take it as you wish. If you've seen my post in the past. You'll see that some are serious, some try to help out other fellow members and some I try to make people smile.

As far as punching people in the face. That is something I don't think about since I don't consider it a part of my life. However, you can think and attract what you like in your life ;)

You go scratching a guys paint, you may find attracting violent reactions may very soon become part of your life..
