Hello, I want to know what you favorite Album of all time is? I am not asking you favorite song but what you could listen to over and over again as an album. Pretend you had a cassette and it flipped over and over just playing itself out and you didn't mind it at all. That was the only one you could hear. What is it?

I like Pink Floyd "The Wall".

Don't like questions like this because I have too many favorites. Just about any led Zeppelin Album is listenable over and over. So is Dave Matthews band before these crowded streets. Nirvanas never mind is great also. And as has already been mentioned, dark side of the moon is a classic. There's more but those one to mind first.

Ahhh, great thread! I too have too many favorites and have even talked about something like this somewhere before but it was if you stranded on an island and you could only have 3 albums but since its down to 1 I'd go with:

Band of Gypsy's...Live at the Filmore 1969/70 (original release) I love all the songs on there but "Machine Gun" inparticular is my favorite of all time! Being a huge Hendrix fan I tell people you wanna know and really hear Hendrix, listen to that song on that album and you'll get it!!

Well since others have added more than one and I mentioned the deserted island thing, in addition to Band of Gypsy's, I'd also pick:

-Santana "Moonflower"

-Stevie Ray Vaughan "Couldn't Stand the Weather"

-Cream "Disraeli Gears"

-Jeff Beck Group "Truth"

-Led Zeppelin "Led Zeppelin"

These are just a few "extras" I would add to the list because from top to bottom, front to back, side to side, are just ground breaking, untouchable, masterpieces of musical releases and IMHO, should be in every music fans collection, period!

Can't go wrong w/ the debut, especially since John Hammond was persnally involved and he was just coming off working with Bowie on "Let's Dance". Speaking of that album, those who don't know, SRV does guitar work on there and you guys should listen to the song "Cat People" SRV smokes on that track!

Porcupine Tree's Fear of A Blank Planet.
This album smokes from beginning to end.

My introduction to the Grunge sound. This was the sound of my 20's and will always remain my favorite era of rock. I was never a hardcore hair band guy or 70's rocker.

Some more of my favorites:

Now, I am also a punk man, which would probably explain the grunge love as well.

Good list Derek, I've got the Clash "London Calling", great album and even better album cover. The beginning of the song "London Calling" is addicting! Soundgarden may be considered "grunge" but make no mistake, very metallic sounding, like the song "Jesus Christ Pose", one of favorite speeding songs, now I just need a car that can speed, LOL!

Alice in Chains Dirt album was definitely an art piece. RIP Layne and Mike.

Well I don't mean to compile an even larger "favorite album" list, even though I've made my pick for one already earlier, but I also like metal, so no list of mine wouldn't be complete w/o:

-Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath"

-Iron Maiden "Live after Death"

-Metallica "Kill em' All"

-Judas Priest "Defenders of the Faith"

Actually, there's more Sabbath, Maiden and Priest to put up there, all pre-"Black" album Metallica too.

This thread is not possible. There is no way I could pick just one.
