Favorite High Gloss Tire Product?

If the tire is not properly cleaned every time you dress it with Meg's endurance, it leaves a black greasy substance that is awful from the old tire shine. Takes a good scrubbing with APC+ then a little dwell after to get it off. Not what I want to do. Water based dressings are the best dressings to use!

I dont like Meg's endurance gel at ALL. Sure it gives a great shine as most tire products, but it also tends to sling ALOT, even when applied light.

Pinnacle Black Onyx doesnt use harsh chemicals that cause your tires to dry or turn brown over time. Its water based, smells freaking AMAZING (like mango) and gives you a nice new tire look with a satin finish. If your into a higher gloss look, you can control it by re-applying.

Im not into the greasy tire look, I want my tires to look natural & brand new. One thing that really stood out about Black Onyx is that a tiny bit of product goes a lonnnngg way. With other brands, I was using a lot more product. At $19.99 yes its a little pricey, but it will last you a VERY long time and IMO you will love the experience, ease of use and healthy for your tires! I got it on BOGO and really satisfied with it.

I HIGHLY recommend this great product.

Never had those issues with Megs, maybe because I scrub the tires with APC or Megs AWT cleaner before I apply it. I have water based dressings also and find that they don't last as long as the solvent based dressings.

I've never had a sling issue with endurance gel. I typically apply it hours before the car is going to be driven. Maybe if you apply it and immediately drive the car it would sling?

I always used that Megs Extreme Shine gel if someone wanted super shiny tires.

Bingo!! For me I usually apply the tire dressing before I start waxing or doing any paint correction, at least this way the tire will be dry enough and maybe I can apply a second coat if needed. I use Meg's endurance gel as well and I love this product. Now remember, before applying this to the tires, cleaning of the tires and drying is very important.

Vehicle isnt driven for a few hours until the customer comes pick it up. Also, solvent based products tend to really cake up on the sidewalls.

Sure, water based products dont last nearly as long as solvent based. Although when you have customers coming in with Toyo or Ferelli tires, the last thing I want is their tires fading, browning or slinging.

Meguiar's does not make a product called "Extreme Shine Gel"....Armor All however does.

I got a sample to try it out, used this on my personal cool vanilla dodge charger 06, worse thing ever. I give them props for one thing, all it takes is one thin layer and yes super shine but it didn't take long for that super shine to be all over the side of my car. Was no happy at all.

Chemical Guys G6. Very dark gloss and does not sling at all. Good durability too.

+1 on Megs Endurance it does a great job. IMO however any and all 'shine' type tire dressings MUST sit for hours if not overnight. If you want a serious shine aand don't mine silicone, find some ZEP spray. Yikes!!!!!!! More of a production line type spray, and certainly you don't want to be within half a mile of a paint shop but them puppies will shine.

Addressing rubber grunge, brown wear off etc; that is more of a thing where the treatment used on the tires allows them to pick up dirt and holds it on the surface. Take a good APC and fix that each and every time you shine your tires to help with build-up and for better results. I like Megs APC+ at 10:1 for a number of jobs, although if too bad you can use 4:1 (both of which I keep in spray bottles on my cart btw).

For a smooth shine, satin shine etc there are a number of rubber and vinyl treatments, water based, perhaps not as durable. Depending on the condition of the rubber some work better than others. Griot's VRD leaves a squeaky clean surface, although not sure it's a good look on tires. One that comes to mind is WG VRP plus it smells like coconut. ;)

Ad an addendum; Lately Advance Auto Parts has closed out the spray version of Megs Ultimate for $2.45 (down from $9.19 and I bought 4 bottles). :D It doesn't give as deep of a shine as the gel, but has it's use in your arsenal for sure, especially at that price. :)
