does the newest/current version (3rd gen) of the GG6 bog down the slight bit compared to the 2nd gen GG6? i thought i may have read some saying that it wasn't as powerful...

As a 2nd and 3rd gen owner, I see no noticeable difference in the power or ability to big down. HOWEVER I did one time own two, 2nd gens an early production run model, and one later. And I felt the early production one had more power than the later production one. Did this all make sense lol? I can clarify, still sipping coffee.

Ok your the first guy I see that uses that stuff so I got to ask... have you tried Optimum No Rinse (shine or wax, doesn't matter)? If so, is Infinite use Detail juice that much better?

Infinite Use is similar to Ultima Waterless Wash. And no, based on price and performance UWW+ blows it out of the water in my experience.

My GG6 is one of the last generation 2s. I got it when AG was blowing them out for $99 to make room for the generation 3s. Technically, the power specs for the 2 & 3s are the same. I guess I got a good one - because mine is a powerhouse.

However, after reading the book Poorly Made in China (not saying the GG6 is poorly made), I learned how Chinese manufacturers substitute all sorts of internal parts and mechanisms in their manufacturing process based on cost and availability if they think the can get away with it - and they usually can. I'm guessing even changing the supplier of the motor brushes could affect the power output somewhat.

The actual company slapping their name on the box is usually none the wiser. So, there may be unofficial differences in the machines that Griots may not even be aware of. That's just the nature of Chinese manufacturing. But, there likely is no way to confirm which is which, unless someone stripped down a unit they felt was lower powered along side a unit they felt was higher powered and did electrical tests and compared the internals.

There also is the concept that any mass manufactured engine or motor will vary in power just based on normal manufacturing variations in the components. This can be seen often when putting 2 identical brand new cars on a dyno. Two almost identical M3s can vary in RWHP by a fair amount.

Thanks. This will put my desire to order some to rest once and for all.

makes sense to me. iirc, i thought mark (ZL1 Mark) said he got the 3rd gen as a replacement for a broken 2nd gen and mentioned it bog down easier compared to the 2nd gen GG6, and even had a short video of both in action side by side...

#845 hands down! Meg's APC+ also (only if I could get ahold of more)

it seems like the first batch of many tools are sometimes usually the best because they are up to higher standards and then as they are mass produced down the line the quality goes down...

For me it depends on the day, and what I'm doing. Today it's Megs Ultimate Polish, Surf City Garage Nano Seal, Barrier Reef Carnauba Paste Wax, and Duragloss 101. The green Lake Country CCS pad.... You get the idea.

Having been a Zaino addict for the last 14 years, I recently tried the Wolfgang line which came as a "combo" with my new Rupes 15. I have to say, I'm sold on the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant which is m new favourite product of choice. I'm hooked!

I continue to find products I like. I'd still say Nanoskin Autoscub is my fav however I really use Meg's APC a LOT so I love it as well as Super Degreaser.

I like UWW+ a lot as well. I'm almost out of it but I need to use up all my ONR before I get some more UWW+.

And, just recently tried Meg's MF Correction System and I really like the MF pads.

As an honorary mention I like what I have seen out of CG G6 Hypercoat and VRP

Since you said "product" and not "tool" I have to go with DuraGloss Aqua Wax!
