febreeze car clips cause damage?

I have used these ever since it was introduced . Never had any problems.
However reading these stories, I'm convinced that I should stop using them altogether

I bought half a dozen to try and like them a lot. However, I will never use them in the Texas heat.

Anything ' Febreeze' causes me to gag when catching a wiff. I sure couldn't take it blowing directly into my face

NO THANKS!
I am with you on that. The wife has had one of those things in her Van. When I get in I often take it from the vent and throw it in the console and tell her she can put it back when I am not there. Those things are disgusting

A friend of mine had a few of these sitting on the front leather seats of his Acura TL and it discoloured the leather. Seemed like it removed the dye. Nasty stuff.

*just to clarify they were on seats as they had fallen out of box while he was moving. Weren't on there for more than a few hours.

Never been a fan of anything that hangs from the mirror or clips onto the vents (looks tacky, IMO). Not a fan of stickers either, but that's another topic.

I had a new one ready to put in this weekend, but after reading that i returned it. Why take a chance? When i clean my leather seats with the DP foam cleaner & conditioner, it leaves a really great leather scent!

I've had to do this ^ Be sure and wash your hands real good after touching those things ;)

I've had Yankee Candle clips in the two center stack vents of my Mercedes-Benz C250 for exactly three months now and haven't seen any discoloration or change to the plastics, but they're normal plastic with a small amount of hard fragrance-infused gel deposited on them and none of it contacts anything. My expectation is there won't be any problem with this passive system.

Uhh ####.. I actually have one on my passenger window vent..
It smelled good.. but it's all gone now. Doesn't last that long.

I have used these in my vents in my car since they have came out. And never had a problem with them. And I will continue to use these. Just wish they lasted longer.

Sent from my XT1080 using AG Online

Just went out and checked mine.. it's empty and no damage.. they smell good just do not last that long.

not taking a chance , I removed mine ASAP when I saw this thread . however no I'll effects noticed

I use these things all the time and never had this issue. Even on days of extreme heat in the San Fernando Valley of So Cal....thans for the heads up though.
